It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!
DYNAMITE kicked off with a real banger tonight! It was an AEW World Championship Eliminator Match!
AEW World Champion Kenny Omega (with Impact’s Don Callis) vs. Matt Sydal (Accompanied by Mike Sydal)! If Matt Sydal defeats Omega, he will earn a future AEW World Championship shot!
Jim Ross pointed out that Sydal is 7-1 in his last 8 singles matches.
Omega got Sydal in a wristlock and then paint brushed Sydal’s head, mocking the challenger. Omega dropped Sydal with a back elbow, slowing down the pace.
“The slower more deliberate pace will favor Kenny Omega, I think,” said Jim Ross.
Omega chopped at Sydal and tried to body slam him but Sydal escaped and countered, sending Omega for a powder break outside the ring. Omega returned to the ring and they locked up in a Greco Roman knuckle lock. Omega kicked Sydal in the midsection. Matt Sydal retaliated with kicks and then a standing moonsault press for a near fall on Omega! He charged into the corner unleashing a vicious knee strike on Omega. The champ knocked Sydal inside out with a lariat. Omega planted Sydal on the ring apron! He followed up with a mean backbreaker on Sydal.
Sydal rattled Omega with a leg lariat and then a brain buster for a very near fall.
“Matt Sydal was a heartbeat away from being the number one challenger for the AEW World Championship,” said Excalibur.
Sydal attempted a top rope hurracanrana but Omega countered, dropping Sydal down hard below onto the turnbuckles. Omega hit a snapdragon suplex! Somehow Sydal snuck in a lightning spiral, folding up Omega like an accordion, but the champ kicked out at the two-count! Matt Sydal attempted the meteora but Omega countered with two V-Triggers! Sydal kicked out and went searching for a shooting star press, but Omega swiped at the ropes and knocked Sydal off balance. Omega had enough and after another V-Trigger and then the One-Winged Angel, the champ pinned Matt Sydal!

Archer said he interrupted Sting on DYNAMITE because it’s the Monster’s time and one way or another, it’s showtime!
After her historic match with Thunder Rosa on last week’s episode of DYNAMITE, Tony Schiavone was out to interview Dr. Britt Baker!
Baker was upset with the reception she received from the fans tonight at Daily’s Place. She called the fans delusional and compared them to Thunder Rosa.
“Thunder Rosa, you got to be a part of the history that I wrote with my own blood! And then you had the audacity to stand in my company, in my division, and say you put the women on the map?! Then why is everybody talking about me? Mick Foley, thanks for the thumbs up. It took you 20 years to become the hardcore legend, and I did it in one night. And that night when I had 87 thumbtacks in my back and the blood was flowing down my face, I never saw more clearly. Tony Khan, you have all these legends, but I’m standing right here and I put the company on the map. And A-E-W comes second behind D.M.D.”
Dasha was backstage to interview Christian Cage, who was hanging out with Varsity Blonds and Dante Martin. Christian Cage said he was giving them some friendly advice. Frankie Kazarian interrupted Christian Cage and pointed out Cage’s shirt and asked him when the work starts. Christian Cage said the work starts next week, and he told Kazarian to step up. Kazarian accepted the challenge. Next week on DYNAMITE it’ll be Christian Cage’s AEW debut against Frankie Kazarian!

MJF said next week he has a gift for the Pinnacle, because when you’re the Pinnacle, you’re always on top.
Backstage, Team Taz had a message. Taz said “The Machine” Brian Cage apologized to him and to Ricky Starks. Cage rolled his eyes and finally replied, half-heartedly, “Who better than Cage?”
Tony Schiavone interviewed QT Marshall on the ramp.
QT said Cody Rhodes taught him the value of doing the work, but nobody has down more work in AEW than him. QT said he’s frustrated because after all the work he’s done, he’s still best known as being “Cody’s friend.” QT said the only way he’s going to step out of Cody’s shadow is to have an exhibition next week.
Cody Rhodes walked out and said even though his heart is not into this, he will gladly accommodate QT Marshall and have the exhibition match and Arn Anderson will be the referee: “I’m not going to hurt you. If I hook on the Cross Rhodes, I’m not going to follow through with it. If I apply the figure four, I’m going to relinquish it. You might be my best friend. So let’s do it; let’s have this exhibition, friend to friend.”
They shook hands.

Kenny Omega ran out and blindsided Laredo Kid with the microphone to the head! Kenny Omega said he was having vivid flashbacks from Fighter Fest. “Three years ago I had a choice. Did I chose to stay at home with the fans that loved me? No. Did I go to New York? No. You’re thinking I chose AEW. No. I never chose AEW. I chose the Young Bucks, so we could make this the best wrestling promotion on the planet. And rather than sit with the cool kids in the high school cafeteria, you chose Brandon Cutler. I’m going to give you one more chance. Are you with me? Toss it up for the hard cam. It’s now or never. Are you with me? I may not agree with everything Don Callis said, but you guys have changed.”
The Bucks walked away with Brandon Cutler and Kenny Omega said “We’re done!”
The Lucha Brothers attacked Kenny Omega from behind, laying him out, and in the process, he was busted open. Finally the Good Brothers came out to help Kenny Omega to his feet.

Defending Champ Darby Allin vs. John Silver (with Dark Order)!
“He’s a human bowling ball,” said Jim Ross of John Silver.
“Darby is a human battering ram,” replied Tony Schiavone.
When the match began, Darby pointed up, honoring the greatest TNT Champion, Mr. Brodie Lee.
Darby used his quickness and leverage to trip up John Silver. He cranked on a side headlock. John Silver smacked into Darby Allin with a running uppercut, sending the champion sailing to the outside! He hurled Darby across the ring!
