The show opened with Bully Ray, Devon and Tommy Dreamer. Bully promised that Dixie Carter would go through a table tonight.
Abyss vs Bram
Monster’s Ball
Bram immediately went after The Monster with a kendo stick but Abyss fought him off. Eventually more weapons came into play as Abyss unloaded a ringside trashcan into the ring. There was a loud “we want blood” chant from the hardcore fans. Bram introduced the Barbed Wire Board and set it up into the corner. Abyss low blowed Bram with a cheese grater to the undercarriage.
Abyss grabbed Janice from ringside but ending up connecting with the turnbuckle. Instead, he grabbed a bag of tacks. He went to Chokeslam Bram into the tacks twice before sending the brit hard into the spiky pieces of metal below as the fans cheered on.
Abyss went to use Janice but Magnus came out and grabbed it from him. After Abyss laid him out, Abyss ran into a spear through the barbed wire board courtesy of Bram. Moments later, Bram used Janice on Abyss to pick up the win. Abyss’ arm and Bram’s back were shown bleeding after the match.
Bram left ringside with Magnus and Janice.
Reaction: Great match for the vocal New York crowd. Bram has been spotlighted quite a bit in the past few months. Unfortunately, Magnus has been devalued quite a bit in the past few months as well. Great violent performance from both men.
Samoa Joe was interviewed backstage about his X Division Championship Match tonight. Low Ki interrupted and talked about Joe being in his way. Joe told him that he never can prepare for him.
Reaction: Low Ki’s voice is so unique and deep. He sounds like a Japanese villain or something. The X-Division has gotten quite a bit of attention recently so let’s hope it is for the long-run instead of just a few months.
EC3 was with his team. Each of his team members each had words for Team Bully. EC3 said that there was no way that Dixie Carter would ever go through a table.
World Champion, Lashley came to the ring accompanies by lovely ladies as well as Kenny King and MVP. MVP took the mic and talked about working with crybabies when he was the Director of Wrestling Operations. He said while they have the World Title, he has all of the power with none of the headaches. MVP said Lashley would be World Champion for years to come. MVP talked about Lashley’s recent victims (Eric Young, Jeff Hardy and Austin Aries). MVP said that there was nobody left for him to beat.
They were interrupted by the music of Bobby Roode. Roode put over Lashley as a destroyer. He said Lashley was one of the most dominant world champions to hold the title. Roode said he was the longest reigning World Champion in TNA history. Roode said he knows what it takes to be a World Champion. He said MVP knew that which is why MVP sent him home for a few months. The plan was for MVP to be World Champion until he blew out his knee. Roode accused MVP of using Lashley to get his own things accomplished.
Roode said in recent weeks, he kicked the asses of MVP and Kenny King. Roode said that while Lashley beat many great men, he hasn’t beaten him. Roode wanted a match but got jumped by the three men in the ring. The music of EY hit as Showtime and Austin Aries came out for the save.
Reaction: Roode was very good here. He was the next logical choice for the person who would take down Lashley. I would save this match for Bound For Glory. Lashley is building up momentum by taking down his top challengers. Roode on the other hand is going through Lashley’s buddies. Its a match I want to see.
Gunner and Samuel Shaw were walking when Mr. Anderson came up. Anderson wanted to talk to Gunner alone. Anderson said he doesn’t trust Shaw. Gunner asked him if he trusted him.
The cameraman asked Bully Ray who the fourth guy was. Bully wouldn’t reveal who it was. Tommy said he couldn’t believe he got him out of retirement while Devon couldn’t believe he got him out on his birthday.
The Bromans and DJ Z vs Mr. Anderson, Samuel Shaw and Gunner
Mr. Anderson did his introductions calling Shaw “this frickin’ guy.” He gave Shaw a few evil glances. Anderson and Gunner did a good job working together while there was clear animosity between Shaw and Anderson. Gunner went down and looked to make the hot tag. He was about to tag Shaw but Anderson pushed Shaw away and took the tag.
Things broke down from that point. Gunner got sent outside the ring. Samuel Shaw got in and went ballistic on his three opponents. Anderson got in his face asking him if he was out of his mind. Anderson then got rolled up for the loss.
After the match Anderson cornered Shaw but Gunner came out and pulled Anderson off of him. Anderson left the ring.
Reaction: Shaw looked like the victim here while Anderson (no pun intended) looks like the asshole.
Backstage, Dixie Carter talked up King Mo. King said he would protect Dixie tonight.
Backstage, Mr. Anderson was pissed off. Gunner ran up to him and defended Shaw. Both guys started shoving each other. Samuel Shaw walked up and got in between them. Shaw said that it was his fault.
Team EC3 vs Team Bully Ray
Hardcore War
This is like lethal lockdown where a new participant enters every 90 seconds except there isn’t a steel cage. Each wrestler will bring a weapon with them to the ring. EC3 is starting things off for his team while Dreamer is first out for Team Bully. The two men brawled at ringside for a few moments. Tommy Dreamer used a kendo stick to hit a cool back suplex move. King Mo and Dixie Carter were shown watching from the crowd.
Rhino and Devon were the next two members of each team, both giving temporary advantages to their team. We went to commercial break with Team Bully in control.
Snitsky followed by Bully Ray came out when we returned from break. Bully went after everyone with a trash can. Team Bully dominated Team EC3 for the next few minutes until Ryklon came out. A few different wrestlers (such as EC3 were bleeding). EC3 kept running Bully’s head into a chair and then choked him with a chain.
The final member of Team Bully ended up being Al Snow. There was a cool strobe light effect where many fans in the crowd had mannequin heads. The crowd chanted “we want head” as Al got in his signature spots. Bully hit a Crossbody on Snitsky and Ryklon. Rockstar Spud hit Tommy with a Kendo Stick but the members of Team Bully ended up hitting him with a What’s Up Headbutt using Head.
As Team Bully went for the tables, Team EC3 attacked them on the outside. Al Snow hit a Suicide Moonsault onto the members of Team EC3 as the fans chanted “you still got it.” In the ring, Team 3D connected with the 3D on Rhino for the win. Dixie Carter looked worried in the crowd.
After the match, Bully grabbed a mic and asked where Dixie Carter was. He said Team EC3 just got their ass beat down. He said he was putting Dixie through a table tonight. Dixie said that wouldn’t happen but by the end of the night, King Mo would knock Bully out.
Reaction: That was a real fun hardcore match right there. Tonight has a big time feel with fans knowing that Dixie Carter will be going through a table. The moment could end up being TNA’s most memorable moment. By the way, I loved the visual of Al Snow making his entrance as all the New York fans bobbed head. The crowd has been very loud and very good tonight.
Backstage, Angelina Love talked to Velvet Sky about how she was owed her Knockouts Title Match.
Backstage, EC3 blamed Snitsky and Ryklon for letting them down. He said they have a secret weapon in King Mo.
The Beautiful People make their entrance. Angelina Love wanted to know why everyone was going crazy over Taryn Terrell. She said she wanted a rematch for the Knockouts Title. Taryn Terrell came out. Taryn was pissed that Love took her opportunity away from her. Angelina said she was better than Tary, Gail and every Knockout on the roster. Velvet seemed kind of bothered by that comment.
Gail Kim came out and told Taryn she would get her opportunity. Gail said next week she would give Angelina Love and Taryn Terrell her title match. She then asked Velvet how she felt about Gail’s comments. Gail told her that she was also in the championship match.
The Beautiful People jumped Gail and Taryn but Velvet accidentally hit Angelina which allowed their opponents to clear them from the ring.
Backstage, James Storm talked to Sanada. He said Sanada wasn’t doing this for Japan, or Great Muta but for him. He slapped him telling him to bring home the X Title. He told him to bow.
Reaction: I like the story of Storm being an abusive mentor forcing Sanada to leave Great Muta for him. Its very intriguing. Will it be enough for Sanada to win the X Title? We will see.
Another mysterious promo aired. The first letter is an H while the last letter is a K.
Reaction: Its got to be Hulk as in Hulk Hogan. The Immortal One returns just weeks after his birthday. He looks like a woman and one wearing makeup. Hulk had a midlife crisis.
Bully Ray said that they just went through hardcore heaven. He put over the high he gets off of hardcore. Bully said he would knock King Mo out and then Dixie Carter goes through a table.
James Storm came out with a mic. He said he was the legend. He introduced the man who ended Great Muta’s career, Sanada. Storm forced Sanada to bow as he walked by him.
Sanada vs Low Ki vs Samoa Joe
X-Division Championship
The opening bell was coming after the break.
Things were fast-paced from the get go. Joe took down Sanada with a big kick and looked to go one on one with Low Ki. Sanada tried tripping Joe but Ki hit a big baseball kick on him. While they were fighting on the outside, Joe connected with the Elbow Suicida on both men.
In the ring, Low Ki hit a cool handspring kick on Sanada. Ki and Joe then exchanged hard jabs and kicks before Joe connected with STJoe. Joe went for the Musclebuster but Low Ki locked in the Dragon Sleeper. Ki backflipped out of a Tiger Suplex followed by a Double Foot Stomp.
Sanada broke a Joe armbar with a Standing Moonsault. Sanada went for a Bridging Rollup but Joe reversed it into the Coquina Clutch. Sanada tapped out which means Samoa Joe is your new X Division Champion.
Reaction: An incredibly fun 3-Way Match. With Sanada eating the loss, it saves Joe vs Low Ki in singles action. This was one of the better X Division Matches in months. I have to say that the quality of wrestling has improved vastly over the past few weeks. Excellent wrestling here.
Backstage, Dixie Carter hyped up King Mo.
Reaction: Quick question. If someone threatened your life, would you remain in the same location as that person? Why doesn’t Dixie just leave the arena? Will Bully wait and put her through the Thanksgiving Table? That would be entertaining as hell.
Dixie Carter was in the ring surrounded by her entourage. Dixie told Ryklon and Snitsky worthless. She fired both men telling them to get out of her ring, calling them has-beens. She yelled for the fans to get out of her building. Bully’s music hit and Bully, Dreamer and Devon carried a table to the ring.
Bully said for a very long time, he has promised the fans that Dixie would be going through a table. Dreamer said he tried telling her but she didn’t listen. At that point, King Mo drilled Dreamer but then Team 3D tackled Dixie’s goons. Team 3D was in the ring with Dixie. They were going to put her through a table but she ran out with Spud.
They headed to the back but the TNA locker room emptied and prevented them from leaving. Spud fainted on the ramp as Dreamer lifted Dixie into the ring. The roster hit the mat as Devon lifted Dixie onto Bully. Bully powerbombed Dixie down hard through the table as everyone freaked out. Bully had a mad stare in his eyes. There were HUGE TNA chants from the New York crowd.
Reaction: If you can get over the fact that Bully is more of a villain here than Dixie and the fact that a bunch of men just slammed a smaller woman through a table, then this was a hot moment. I don’t think I have heard a TNA chant that loud in years. This was definitely a moment months in the making. It could end up being TNA’s most memorable moment. I surely won’t forget it.
