Last week and the week before I wrote articles about who I would like to see in the Main Event Mafia and who I would prefer not to be a part of the group. This week, I’d like to keep with the same theme of the Main Event Mafia, but I’d like to expand the scope of the previous two columns to include women. Where are the women in the Main Event Mafia or the Aces and 8s? Frankly, the lack of quality Knockout representation in either group is disturbing and I hope that the writers plan to include some strong women in these storylines in the coming months. Here are my choices for which Knockouts I would like to see in Sting’s new Main Event Mafia.
Tara
While I understand that Tara is busy mentoring Jessie Godderz and Robbie E., we shouldn’t overlook the fact that she and Gail Kim are two of the best women wrestlers from the last decade. And that accolade goes for any women’s division in any wrestling promotion on the planet. Unlike Kim, though, Tara can pull off being a babyface and make it seem believable. There’s something about Kim that just makes her a really good heel. I’m not sure what it is, but I wouldn’t want to see the writers try to squeeze Kim into a situation where she was forced to be a babyface when she’s one of the best heels in all of women’s wrestling. Tara is a former TNA Knockouts Champion and TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion. She has the experience, the credentials, the in-ring ability, and the look to be part of the Main Event Mafia.
Angelina Love
You can count this one in the area of “surprise returns,” but if the Main Event Mafia is going to expand to cover the Knockouts portion of the iMPACT Wrestling roster, then Angelina Love would be a welcome addition both to the super group and to the Knockouts division. After she left iMPACT Wrestling, the former TNA Knockouts Champion commented on Twitter that she would not be back and was looking forward to pursue other opportunities. I haven’t seen her since she left the promotion, so I’m not sure how good her other opportunities are going for her right now. However, I do know that Love has a strong following and is an excellent in-ring performer. If Sting is looking to get a strong woman in his mafia, then Angelina Love would fit the bill with no questions asked.
O.D.B.
Then again, when it comes to strong women I don’t know who is stronger on the current Knockouts roster than O.D.B. True, she’s currently serving as the Knockouts referee and I think she’s done a good job in that role (plus it gets her some TV time). Yet, O.D.B. is a strong woman and a solid performer who could add a nice dimension to the Main Event Mafia group. Let me be clear, though – I’m not looking for the rugged, tit-grabbing, alcohol-swigging version of O.D.B. that we normally get on TV. Nope. I’m looking for the O.D.B. that had the same anger and focus that she had back when she returned from not being used for several months (remember when she returned with Miss Jackie?). I’m looking for the O.D.B. that finally rises up to the level of stardom that she is really destined to achieve in iMPACT Wrestling. I’m looking for the 3-time former TNA Knockouts Champion – the woman who was crowned TNA’s Queen of the Cage back in 2009! If we can get that woman in the Main Event Mafia, then sign her up!
I should be clear in the choices above – I’m not looking for all of these women to join the mafia. Just one of them will do. I don’t see Velvet Sky or Brooke Tessmacher bringing the seriousness to the job that the women above would bring. And I don’t see Mickie James or Gail Kim being able to play a believable face right now. As for Taryn Terrell – she might be a good selection, but she’s a bit too new to the high level of experience needed for Sting’s new mafia. Plus, she hasn’t won a TNA Knockouts Championship yet.
What do you think about these picks? Would you select someone else? Angelina Love was my “surprise return” pick. Would you have a surprise return from Awesome Kong or Daffney or Traci Brooks instead? Use the comment system below to let me know what you think!

I totally agree that the Knockouts need to be more involved with the Aces and 8s/Main Event Mafia storylines.
I actually think Tara is the most natural fit to join the Aces & 8s.
She’s a tough heel with a traditionally dark persona who is known to ride motor-cycles. I’d like to see her leave the “Bromance” and hook up with one Garrett Bischoff. And I’d like to see the Aces and 8s support her for a run at the Knockouts title, while she in turn manages Garrett and Wes in the tag-team division … although I’m not a Wes fan in the least.
As far as the Main Event Mafia goes, I think it would be awesome to see the return of Angelina Love for this purpose.

I could go along with your suggestion and have Tara be an Aces and 8s woman. This Saturday, if time permits, I’m going to post my take on which women should be in the Aces and 8s. This series of columns on the Main Event Mafia has been a lot of fun to write – might as well keep it going another week!
