Damien Sandow vs. Sheamus-Pre Show
This match is the pre-show so it should be a relatively short. I give it 7-10 minutes, and don’t expect too much. What I’m concerned with is that they’ve really built on this match over the past few weeks and it should be higher up than the pre-show. Especially with only 6 matches booked for PayBack you would think they would have put this match on the PPV card. Plus, Sheamus has gone from World Champion to the pre-show in a matter of months. I understand WWE wants people to tune into the pre-show. However in the end I don’t see Sandow picking up a win over Sheamus as the babyface will do the normal in the pre-show and pick up the win.
Prediction: Sheamus
Randy Orton & Daniel Bryan (Team RKNO) vs. (C) Seth Rollins & (C) Roman Reigns (The Shield)-WWE Tag Team Championship
I’m excited for this match even though it was a last minute add in, with all the buzz surrounding these teams as of late. Daniel Bryan is as over as ever. Randy Orton been rumored for a heel turn. The Shield is unstoppable. So who wouldn’t be excited for this match? This may be one of the best tag team matches were going to see this year! Aside from what an awesome match this should be its very predictable with The Shield retaining. I do however expect to see some sort of heel turn between either Randy Orton or Daniel Bryan. Should be interesting to find out what happens and goes down.
Prediction: Winners and still the WWE Tag Team Champion’s The Shield
Dean Ambrose (C) vs. Kane-United States Championship
Yet again another last minute add in match to the PPV, but it’s fine since both competitors are good workers. Expect to see a physical ground match-up from Dean Ambrose. It’s hard to tell how this match is going to go, and what I mean by that is the finish not the winner. Will the other members of The Shield run in? Will it be a clean finish? One thing is for certain Dean Ambrose will reign supreme.
Prediction: Dean Ambrose retains
Kaitlyn (C) vs. AJ Lee-Divas Championship
Sadly the bathroom break of the PPV will come during this match. As there have been some build towards this match it’s still not enough to get me interested and I’m not sure how many people actually remember this match is on the card. Expect to see a cat fight to start the match with AJ Lee coming out on top at the end to start her first reign as Divas Champion
Prediction: AJ Lee wins the WWE Divas Championship
Curtis Axel vs. The Miz vs. Wade Barrett (C)-Triple threat-Intercontinental Championship
Originally this match was supposed to involve Fandango instead of Curtis Axel, but Fandango suffered a concussion forcing him out of action with his spot open which didn’t stay open long as Curtis Axel entered his way into the match. This should be a solid triple threat match with some close pin falls. In the end I see Curtis Axel sweeping in for the victory. As winning the Intercontinental Championship should get Curtis Axel more over with the fans showing them he’s the real deal.
Prediction: Curtis Axel
Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler (C)-World Heavyweight Championship
Interesting matchup here as it will be Ziggler’s first singles match back since his concussion suffered at the hands of Jack Swagger. It would be a shame to see Ziggler who has worked so hard to become World heavyweight champion lose it to Alberto Del Rio. Whether you’re a fan of Del Rio or Ziggler at the end of the day your be better off pulling for Ziggler. I cannot see WWE taking the World title off him at least not yet.
Prediction: Dolph Ziggler retains the World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk- BEST IN THE WORLD vs. BEST IN THE WORLD
Oh man, what a match this one should be! Being build as BEST IN THE WORLD vs. BEST IN THE WORLD we can all pretty much say this match deserves that title. CM Punk will be making his in-ring return in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois vs. Chris Jericho in the city Jericho made his WWE TV debut in. The crowed will be going nuts for this match especially for CM Punk as I got a feeling the arena is going to need a new roof after CM Punk’s music hits. If anything is for certain it’s that this match should be match of the night, and a possible match of the year candidate. With all the rumors surrounding these two men as of late with talk of a possible heel turn by Chris Jericho, CM Punk babyface turn, Jericho taking off soon including missing Summerslam, CM Punk only got one year left on his contract, leaves a lot of people wondering what is going to take place in this match? Now I do believe we may see a Chris Jericho heel turn, but a CM Punk babyface turn is up in the air for myself due to the City were in. Example if a babyface turn by CM Punk at PayBack in Chicago takes place it would leave a lot of people wondering. Did Punk embrace his hometown Chicago crowd? Or did he embrace his good side? Either way it’s a good cliff hanger and would make people interested to see the next night on RAW so I guess we’ll see what happens. As for the match itself I cannot see Jericho winning in Punk’s hometown vs. Punk.
Prediction: CM Punk IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD
Main Event: Ryback vs John Cena (C)- 3 stages of hell match for the WWE Championship
Stage 1 a lumberjack match: John Cena
Stage 2 a Tables match: Ryback
Stage 3 Ambulance match: John Cena
With all the destruction Ryback has been giving putting people through tables over the past few weeks it begs to differ that he’ll win the tables contest leaving the lumberjack match to John Cena to win to even the odds. There will be a stage 3 for sure with no doubt. At the end Ryback will come in the arena in an ambulance and leave the arena in one too. John Cena retains thus possibly ending his feud with Ryback for the WWE title at least.
Prediction: John Cena
