Opening Segment
This week’s edition of WWE Main Event starts off with Josh Mathews and Wade Barrett hyping this Sunday’s WWE PayBack PPV as only days away.
The crowd looks pumped and ready to go as The Miz music hits for his match vs. Cody Rhodes. Wade Barrett is shown on commentary. Barrett begins hyping this Sunday’s Intercontinental Championship match. Cody Rhodes then makes his way to the ring, while on his way to the ring highlights are shown from this last Monday’s RAW match between The Miz and Cody Rhodes.
The Miz vs. Cody Rhodes
The Miz tries a headlock, but gets thrown into the ropes before coming back and shoulder dropping Cody Rhodes. The Miz then bounces off the ropes 5 times before knocking Cody Rhodes down on the mat again. Miz puts Cody in a headlock. Rhodes gets up pushes Miz into the corner and starts nailing kicks to Miz’s stomach. Rhodes then pulls Miz across the ring into opposite corner, Miz battles back hitting a clothesline. The Miz starts stomping the ring mat but Cody rolls out of the ring. Cody gets back up jumping over the ropes covering The Miz, but Miz rolls out hitting Cody with a boot to the head. Miz covers Cody for a 2 count. Rhodes throws Miz head into 2nd turnbuckle. Miz then gets thrown off the ropes, running into a fist from Cody to the stomach and a dropkick. Cody gets a 2 count, then immediately gets Miz in another headlock, Miz starts to battle back. Miz runs for his running corner clothesline only to be stopped by an elbow from Cody Rhodes. Cody jumps from the top rope only for his legs to be caught. Miz looks for the Figure Four but gets kicked out of the ring only to be kicked in the face. Both men are down.
Cody Rhodes in control with again the headlock, Miz counters throwing Cody outside the ring. Miz starts throwing Cody against barricades outside the ring before getting back in the ring. Miz grabs Cody but Cody counters throwing Miz arm into the ring post. Miz outside of the ring now gets beat down by Cody as the ref counts to 9, but Miz beats the count of 10. Cody starts working on Miz’s arm using the ropes and submission holds. Cody continues to work the arm as he goes for the cover, but Miz kicks out at 2. Cody Rhodes starts taunting Wade Barrett and The Miz as he gets another 2 count before putting another leg submission on The Miz’s arm. Miz stands up beside the ropes Cody runs at Miz, but gets thrown over the ropes. Ref gets to a count of 7 before Cody runs back in the ring getting a major clothesline from Miz as Miz hits a series of moves. Miz gets a roll up pin for 2. Cody sets up in the corner as Miz hits his running corner clothesline. Miz with a very close pinfall following a move from the top rope. Cody counters out of the skull crashing finally throwing Miz shoulder first into the ring post, Cody then connects with the disaster kick, goes for the pin, but The Miz kicks out at 2. Cody goes to kick Miz in stomach, but Miz catches his foot knocks Cody into the ropes. Miz gets Cody down and gets the figure four leg lock locked in. Cody taps out after about 8 seconds.
Winner: The Miz
Damien Sandow is shown walking backstage, and Josh Mathews says Damien Sandow is in action next.
Damien Sandow comes out holding a microphone. He says this Sunday he is gonna beat Sheamus on the pre-show. Sin Cara music hits and here comes the high flying Sin Cara to the ring.
Damien Sandow vs. Sin Cara
Bell rings and Sin Cara is already flying around the ring. Damien counters out after a series of moves by Cara. Damien gets Cara in a headlock but Cara counters out. Cara hits a drop kick off the ropes. Sandow rolls out of the ring as Sin Cara looks on.
Sandow back in control of the match. Sandow starts punching, kicking, and stomping away at Sin Cara. Sandow elbows Cara in the throat from the outside ring. Sandow tries to put Cara in a submission hold after a 2 count. Looks like Sin Cara may get going, but Sandow counters positioning Cara for his key elbow drop. Cara takes control with several high flying moves from the top rope. Cara misses his finisher from the top rope leading Sandow to hit a side body slam for the win.
Winner: Damien Sandow

Josh Mathews then runs through the 3 stages for this Sunday’s 3 stages of hell match.

Jimmy & Jey (The Usos) vs. Sweet Tea Tensai & Brodus Clay (Tons Of Funk)
Brodus Clay starts dancing. Sweet Tea tags in. Sweet Tea starts dancing, but finally we gets some action in the ring, but only for a split second. One of The Usos starts dancing now. Jey Uso tags out. Jimmy Uso with a kick to the stomach of Sweet Tea. Brodus tags in and hits a closeline then knocking off Jey Uso. Brodus hits his suplex finisher, and goes for the pin until Jey Uso breaks the pin up. Sweet Tea gets Samoan dropped!!! A double super kick to Brodus Clay. Jey Uso hits the splash from the top rope for the victory.
Winners: Jimmy & Jey (The Usos)
(Corbin Rogers: Pretty solid edition of Main Event. If you’re into just a pure wrestling show, then this is the show you wanna see. I would definitely check it out if you missed it – some good, solid in-ring action.)
