The Orlando Sentinel recently published an article talking about how iMPACT Wrestling has opted to take its show on the road. In the article, a spokesman for Universal Studios comments that they are grateful for the partnership with iMPACT Wrestling and that they look forward to collaborating again in the future. TNA Wrestling soon will no longer tape at Universal Studios, opting instead to take its show on the road. Its eight-year run at the theme park ends March 7. The “Impact Wrestling” show airs weekly on Spike TV.
“This is a very important next evolution for the company, and I’m excited that the backdrop to the show will feature our great fans in larger arenas around the country and world,” TNA President Dixie Carter said in a prepared statement. In a video announcement, Carter said that TNA’s “amazing” fans had traveled from around the world to see wrestling at Universal Orlando.
The broadcasts, free to Universal guests, had been taped in one of the theme park’s backstage soundstages since 2004. “Impact Wrestling” is seen in more than 120 countries.
“We are grateful for the partnership we’ve had with TNA,” Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said Friday. ”We look forward to the opportunity to work with them again in the future.”
The first stop for TNA will be the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago on March 14. Additional locations were not announced.
