Some of you may remember way back in March of this year we reported that iMPACT Wrestling had generated some 700,000 fans on their Facebook page. Well, here we are some seven months later and the promotion has finally broken through the 750,000 fan mark on the world’s most popular social networking website. In fact, as of the date of this entry iMPACT Wrestling has over 761,000 fans on Facebook.
For comparison’s sake, let’s remember that WWE’s page on Facebook has generated over 10.32 million “likes/fans” on the social networking site… so iMPACT Wrestling clearly has some catching up to do since they don’t even have 10% of the amount of likes as WWE! But hey, iMPACT Wrestling can and should be glad that it is far and away from other promotions that are commonly cited as its competitors. For example, the folks at Ring of Honor Wrestling have just above 83,000 Facebook “likes/fans” to date.
I expect that when the company breaks through to more than one million Facebook fans there will probably be some type of public announcement so keep your eyes open during iMPACT Wrestling’s programming on Spike TV. As to when they will break through that level? Who knows…
