Earlier today, Austin Aries took to Twitter to clarify how the process will work with him vacating his TNA X-Division Championship. According to Aries, he will keep the championship all the way through the day of the Destination X pay-per-view, which is July 8th. Aries suggested that he is keeping his title through the day of the pay-per-view just in case the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode winds up “catching chickenpox or excessively pulling his groin until blind.”
Here is the full text of Aries’ tweets from earlier today:
To be clear: I will vacate my X-Division Championship for a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X. HOWEVER….I will officially keep my title until July 8th, the day of the PPV, to keep my collateral and guard against being left empty handed…if shenanigans try to prevent my World Title shot, like @REALBobbyRoode catching Chickenpox or excessively pulling his groin until blind.
