As most of the interwebs are reporting, TNA Entertainment, LLC has filed an injunction against WWE for “wrongful disclosure and misappropriation.” Without getting overly legal, TNA is claiming that WWE received inside information from a former TNA (and, at the time, current WWE) employee regarding the contract structures of certain performers appearing on the iMPACT Wrestling show. Further, TNA claims that WWE used that information to contact those certain employees in an attempt to have them breach their contracts to appear exclusively for iMPACT Wrestling and, instead, sign contracts with WWE.
According to TNA’s attorney, this has caused “irreparable harm to TNA’s business and profitability.” You can read more details on the lawsuit from The Nashville City Paper by clicking here.
WWE’s response to the filing was: “Our reaction is that no good deed ever goes unpunished. What the WWE did here is what you would hope any company would do in these circumstances it found itself in.” WWE’s attorney is referring to the fact that the WWE was actually the entity that informed TNA of the former employee providing inside information. TNA suggests that they informed them of this too late and that WWE is attempting to use this information to have Ric Flair break his contract with TNA and sign an exclusive contract with the Stamford-based company.

Joe as always TNAStars is among the elit in reporting news accurately. 99% of the sites are reporting TNA is suing WWE. While this injunction could lead to discoveries meriting a lawsuit, it is as you reported a filing for injunction.

I also am among the “elite” in not using spell check.

Thanks, William. And no problem. When I saw the story about TNA filing a “lawsuit” I immediately thought to myself, “Now that can’t be right.” Turns out that the professionally inexperienced people who parade around as journalists on the internet screwed up the story… again.
