The appearance of Country Music stars Montgomery Gentry on this week’s edition of TNA Impact Wrestling has drawn the attention of the mainstream press. Country Weekly has put up a nice piece about the episode and you can check it out at the link or an excerpt below:
What started out as an appearance in a video has turned into something more.
Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry recently appeared in the music video for TNA Impact wrestler Cowboy James Storm’s new single, “Longnecks and Rednecks,” along with hick-hop country artist Cowboy Troy. The video was shot outside of Nashville in Columbia, Tenn.
Eddie and Troy were recently visiting with James—a country music fan who was part of the festivities surrounding last weekend’s Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas—at a match in Orlando, Fla., when James’ rival, Bobby Roode, verbally and physically assaulted the duo. “He made a comment to me and knocked Eddie’s hat off,” Troy tells CountryWeekly.com. “We got into a little pushing match there in the locker room.
“Bobby smarts off to everybody, but he has six or eight security guards and they got inbetween Eddie and I and kept us away,” Troy continues, describing the incident as “a little scuffle.”
