Unfortunately, from time to time we have to deal with problems caused by our third party vendors. Early this morning (around 3:45am EST) our website went down. Service did not resume until after 10:00am EST. This type of outage is totally unacceptable for us as a website company and content provider and for you as readers of this website. We apologize for this outage.
The outage seems to have been caused by shoddy hardware at our hosting company. I’ve been using this hosting company and its many brands to host my websites for the last decade – and I think it’s time for a change. As such, if you know of any reliable hosts that do not suffer monthly, long-term outages like the one this site suffered early this morning, please let me know.
I’ve always been a believer of loyalty in business. However, the frontier-like atmosphere of the online world makes loyalty a thing of the past. This hosting company has burned me, my websites, and (most importantly) my readers multiple times over the years and it’s time for a change to a company that will respect the dollars I spend on hosting. So any tips you have would be greatly appreciated.
