Former Tough Enough cast member and WWE developmental talent Jeremiah Riggs was recently interviewed by HereIsYourWinner.com, in the interview he claims he has been blackballed by all of wrestling, including TNA Wrestling, “I’ve been approached by a few wrestling promoters about coming in and doing some stuff. My manager even met with TNA several times but in the end politics won out. Am I blackballed in wrestling because of FCW? Probably, but it’s all good. I enjoyed wrestling but I’m not a wrestler. I’m a professional athlete. I’m also a mixed martial artist. I’m thankful that Sam and Zack at Bellator think enough of me to offer me an opportunity with them. 2012 is going to be a big year for me and this is only the beginning.”
I’m sure the young man is frustrated about not catching on with WWE or TNA, but if he knew anything about the state of the business there is no “blackballing”. If WWE or TNA feel they can draw money with a competitor that left the other promotion on bad terms, you can bet they will sign them. Neither organization owe the other any loyalty and it’s simply a business decision. Hopefully he achieves the success he’s looking for in Bellator and looks back on this with better perspective in the future.
