Jarrett’s Thoughts: It may seem weird that I am starting off the following part rather than talking about the match, but I’ll make sense of it in a minute. Sting is a great authority figure when he’s not wrestling. He reminds me of Jim Cornette in the sense that he doesn’t take up much time in the show. But when he wrestles, it isn’t good for much of anyone. For one, it isn’t promoted, two he usually wins when someone (like Roode on Thursday) could have used the win, and three is that it’s always about him. Sting is the special enforcer and that guarantees not only a ref bump, but the match to revolve on what Sting is going to do. Bobby Roode needs the win and TNA would be smart to save Roode and Storm for Lockdown in Nashville. How special would it be for TNA supporters in the place it all started for two TNA Originals to headline one of the biggest shows in the company? And Storm needs revenge and it needs to be huge. Bully Ray’s time will hopefully come later this year, and TNA would be wise to test Hardy for a while before they think about giving him a title. It’s not like he needs it anyways, his name value is pretty big within wrestling.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Bobby Roode
Joe’s Thoughts: This is an interesting match in that each person walking away with the championship makes perfect sense. However, I think that the selfish generation prevails in this one.
Joe’s Prediction: Bobby Roode
Mark A.’s Thoughts: All four deserve their spot here, after working super-hard for the company lately. Think we’ll see Roode retail, but under dodgy circumstances.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Jeff Hardy.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: A part of me wants Jeff Hardy to win. But a bigger part of me wants Bully Ray to win. But I think that the leader of the Selfish Generation (Generation Me?) is going to take this somehow.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Bobby Roode
William’s Thoughts: The conventional pick in my opinion would be Roode, but I have a feeling Ray may get rewarded for his recent strong performance.
William’s Prediction: Bully Ray
Jarrett’s Thoughts: It’s funny that Joe and Magnus are suppose to be the bad guys, it looks like it should be the other way around. I never thought that I’d be clamoring for Joe and Magnus of all teams to win the title, but the pairing has impressed me with their wrestling and Magnus’ talking.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Joe and Magnus win the Tag Belts
Joe’s Thoughts: See, here’s the thing with this match in my mind. You have Matt Morgan and Crimson and, even though I’m a big Matt Morgan fan (he’s a fellow Monmouth University alumnus), I think he’s the weak link on the team when it comes to star power. Yes, I understand that Morgan is a bigger name in the industry, but Crimson has limitless potential right now and he’s not fully realizing that potential because he’s on this team. And you can take that brief analysis and apply it to Samoa Joe and Magnus with Joe playing Morgan’s role and Magnus playing Crimson’s role.
Joe’s Prediction: Samoa Joe & Magnus
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Morgan/Crimson aren’t setting my world alight, and Magnus/Joe are. Is it time for Morgan and Crimson to falter to restart their singles feud?
Mark A.’s Prediction: Magnus/Joe to win the titles.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Since Crimson’s streak doesn’t have to be broken for Joe and Magnus to win it, I want Joe and Magnus to win it.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Samoa Joe & Magnus
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Samoa Joe and Magnus
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Nothing really to say about this. Another strong women’s match for a TNA PPV.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Kim retains
Joe’s Thoughts: Tara should win this match. No question. The fans have had their fill of Gail Kim as a dual champion and I think it’s time for Tara to solidly take control of this division. However, Gail Kim has the whole Madison Rayne thing going on as her tag team partner and I just don’t see Tara being able to overcome the double team.
Joe’s Prediction: Gail Kim
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Gail Kim still the MVP of the Knockouts for 2012 so far. Tara will be a worthy contender, but not enough to take the title. I feel like that’s being saved for someone else…
Mark A.’s Prediction: Gail Kim.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Gail’s gone stale to me, and yet, I don’t see her losing. I think the Knockout storylines need more substance in general.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Gail Kim
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Gail Kim
Jarrett’s Thoughts: I have been begging for months for TNA to use Alex Shelly, and they finally have. Shelly looks strong and had a great segment with Aries a week ago. Unlike Sorensen or Kendrick or anyone else that Aries has faced, Alex Shelly is loved by the fans and he can get them emotionally invested in the match. I see Aries sliding by and a rematch taking place in the future
Jarrett’s Prediction: Aries retains
Joe’s Thoughts: Austin Aries has knocked down every single person that he’s been pitted against. Granted, he hasn’t had to face too much of a variety of X-Division stars, but he’s faced enough to be solidly on top of the division. However, Alex Shelley brings a built-in, fanatical base of support and an ability to sell product – characteristics that Jesse Sorensen, Kid Kash, and Zema Ion just can’t compete with… yet.
Joe’s Prediction: Alex Shelley
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Aries still one of the best in the business. Shelley’s just waiting for Sabin to come back, and unless Sabin comes back tonight, Aries will retain.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Aries.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Almost doesn’t matter who wins because I want to see ZEMA ION win the belt soon anyway. And they’re both entertaining, so either one could give it up to ZEMA ION.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Austin Aries
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Alex Shelley
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Take back what I said earlier, one of three matches that has show-stealing potential. This is a match that should have been announced on television. Ion gets more TV time, so that’s why I’m picking him
Jarrett’s Prediction: Zema Ion
Joe’s Thoughts: I like both of these guys. And I’ve been saying since he debuted that Jesse Sorensen is lighting up the search engines and bringing a ton of traffic to this website (even though a few creepy denizens of Twitter might think otherwise). However, aside from the search engine hits for Jesse Sorensen there is another, related, reason why I think he’s going to win. One of these wrestlers just had a t-shirt released by ShopTNA.com and one did not. That’s why I think Sorensen gets the “W” here – he’s a proven hit-grabber online and he just had a t-shirt released. iMPACT Wrestling clearly sees dollar signs on this kid and I think they’re 100% correct.
Joe’s Prediction: Jesse Sorensen
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Prefer Sorensen to Ion, but Ion’s gimmick repackage has been entertaining so far. I still don’t think it’s time to push Sorensen to the height of an X-Division title.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Zema Ion.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: This will be a good match and all, but…
Mark L.’s Prediction: ZEMA ION.
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Jesse Sorensen
AJ Styles vs. Kazarian
Jarrett’s Thoughts: This is one of two matches that have show stealing potential. This is a interesting story and I can’t wait to see it unfold
Jarrett’s Prediction: AJ Wins
Joe’s Thoughts: Like most fans, I don’t get what’s going on here. I don’t know if Daniels wants to see Styles lose or if he wants to humiliate and dominate Kazarian. If he wants Styles to lose, then Kazarian is going to win. If he wants to humiliate Kazarian, then AJ has this one in the bag. But… does anyone know (or, frankly, care) what is going on in this storyline?
Joe’s Prediction: Kazarian?
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Lots of mystery as to why Kaz and Daniels are aligned still, so this one has Kaz’s name all over it. AJ’s redemption will come later.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Kazarian.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Yeeeeah, I still don’t understand this… but this should be a good match until Daniels interferes.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Kazarian
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Kazarian
Gunner with Eric Bischoff vs. Garett Bischoff with Hulk Hogan
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Talk about a match I couldn’t care less about if I tried. Gunner is a wrestler who has been shoved down everyone’s throats during Immortal, and is weak. Garett Bischoff is the executive producers’ son who has been shoved down everyone’s throats. I take offense to him being called the future when he has done absolutely nothing notable since arriving in TNA. He will be hated because he doesn’t deserve the push he’s getting and does not have the wrestling or mic skills to back it up. Bathroom break match at it’s finest.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Garett Bischoff wins, build to Hogan/Bischoff begins.
Joe’s Thoughts: My thoughts on this one are simple – you don’t put the type of time and effort into building a character like Garett Bischoff only to have him lose on pay-per-view. And you don’t give Garett a true legend and icon like Hulk Hogan and have him lose the match.
Joe’s Prediction: Garett Bischoff
Mark A.’s Thoughts: First time we’ll get to see Garett in a match. Hopefully, his arsenal is 20x more than Hogan’s.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Garett Bischoff.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Yeah, let’s hurt Gunner’s image with a loss here… hopefully I’m wrong and/or they shoot Gunner into something decent after this wears off.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Garett Bischoff
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Garett Bischoff

William B. West says
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who is boggled by the Styles/Kazarian angle. I’m hoping it is just over my head and the end will make sense, but I’m not holding my breath.
Joe Vincent says
Yeah, this one has me sort of shaking my head and saying, “Wuh?” It just doesn’t make any sense to me. There needs to be more “given” in this storyline. In other words, this one is playing too much like LOST played on ABC – you get a half-answer that leads to ten more questions without ever getting a real payoff.
