Former WWE Champion, and Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently gave the current TNA World Champion Bobby Roode high marks in a Twitter exchange with the Champ.
The Rock via his official Twitter account, “I dig your work. Keep movin’ the crowd and kicking that ass. (tell Bubba his calves still aren’t as big as mine)”
Bobby Roode responded to the People’s Champion with, “Thanks for the kind words, means a lot. I will make sure that I remind Bubba about the calves!”
It was a nice gesture on the part of the Rock to give a compliment to Roode, especially with his upcoming high profile match for WWE at this year’s WrestleMania against John Cena. If it was anyone under contract for WWE besides the Rock a cynic might believe this was a olive branch towards a possible deal for Ric Flair to appear at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
But I’m guessing the Rock was being sincere, and it also probably tells you the TNA London tapings got enough buzz to get The Rock to check out the product last Thursday. Though the ratings didn’t bare it out (sample sizes aren’t always accurate) I personally know of several WWE fans that checked out TNA for the first time in ages.
