Jarrett’s Thoughts: This match is a lot bigger than a lot of people think. This match will decide (in my eyes at least) the fate of TNA. Will they use their fall-back guy Jeff Hardy or will they continue to trust the Original who is finally getting his due in Bobby Roode. From watching the advertisements, it looks like this match is taking place mainly to milk the Hardy name. I definitively hope that is the point because Roode needs to be booked stronger and more than just the same video packages that have been airing the past month.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Bobby Roode retains
Joe’s Thoughts: It’s pretty amazing that a guy like Jeff Hardy can work his way back up to the top of any wrestling promotion after all that he’s been through personally. His is the beginning of what could be a good story, but that story doesn’t get golden at Genesis – not yet…
Joe’s Prediction: Bobby Roode
Mark A.’s Thoughts: I think Roode is getting good heat from this title reign, but one more poor PPV finish, and fans may get sick it. The last two PPV’s have had basic finishes which don’t satisfy the paying customer, and having that three times in a row could be very detrimental.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Bobby Roode.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Still haven’t watched Impact, but I heard that Roode’s doing his thing as Champ. Regardless, the state of his reign will remain unforgiven in my mind.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Jeff Hardy
William’s Thoughts: I really don’t have a good feeling on who this win goes to, I’m just hoping for this outcome. I was all ready to buy into Bobby Roode as a top face, but I am just not feeling him as a top heel. Hopefully Hardy gets the win and Bobby gets more time to develop his heel persona out of the spotlight.
William’s Prediction: Jeff Hardy
Jarrett’s Thoughts: The Tag Team Tournament is an idea I hated from the start because the tag team belts don’t mean much because the champions were thrown together at the last minute, throwing challengers together at the last minute isn’t going to help matters. I was rooting for the team of Fortune (AJ Styles and Kazarian) because unlike everyone else, they were a legitimate team. Instead Samoa Joe and Magnus (of the forgotten British Invasion tag team) look to dethrone Morgan and Crimson of the tag belts. I don’t mind it, but I wish they didn’t have to have a ridiculous tournament just to give these two something to do.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Morgan and Crimson retain
Joe’s Thoughts: I’m a Magnus fan – not so much a Samoa Joe fan, but definitely a Magnus fan. However, I’m a much bigger Matt Morgan and Crimson fan. So, my bias aside, I don’t see a good enough reason for these two to lose the titles yet – and especially to the slapdash combination of Magnus and Samoa Joe.
Joe’s Prediction: Matt Morgan & Crimson
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Good to see a fellow Englishman in Magnus get a push into something other than nothing, however I feel the pairing of him and Samoa Joe has been pushed together to stop them from both growing increasingly frustrated at their lack of TV time. Their contempt for one another makes this quite interesting.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Morgan & Crimson.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: I don’t know why Samoa Joe and Magnus are on a team when Magnus is supposed to be a part of the British Invasion… I see no reason for Morgan and Crimson to not win this.
Mark L.’s Prediction: Morgan & Crimson
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Matt Morgan & Crimson
Jarrett’s Thoughts: This is the match that closed TNA for 2011, and it was a great match with a run-in finish. I can’t wait to see what these two talented women can do on a pay-per-view. I see Gail holding on to her title a little longer though.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Gail Kim retains
Joe’s Thoughts: Gail Kim has brought the Knockouts division back to life. Now, if there were only a gigantic woman (you might say an awesome woman) to pummel her each week… Oh well. In any event, I don’t think that Gail loses the title just yet.
Joe’s Prediction: Gail Kim
Mark A.’s Thoughts: As I’ve said before, Gail Kim has breathed new life into the Knockouts division. Mickie James’ ability and overness makes this a tough one to call, but I believe Gail will still be Knockouts Champion when the UK tour comes around.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Gail Kim.

TNA X-Division Championship
Four Corners Match
Kid Kash vs. Jesse Sorensen vs. Austin Aries vs. Zema Ion
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Zema Ion is the Wild Card in this match and that is a very good thing. He has really surprised me with his gimmick in the past month and really has what it takes to be a stand-out in the talented X Division. I don’t see the title coming off of Aries because it’d be better in my opinion to the division for Aries to put someone over one-on-one on a bigger stage. I fully expect “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” to continue being “The Greatest Champion Who Ever Lived” to continue being just that.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Austin Aries retains
Joe’s Thoughts: A few thoughts… First, I think it’s time for Austin Aries to lose the belt. However, I think that he has to lose the belt in some type of long-standing feud. Second, Kid Kash aside I think that the secondary echelon of X-Division wrestlers are really coming into their own in terms of character development and fine-tuning their performances in the ring. I don’t count Kid Kash in that group because he’s a long-established star and a former champion. Here’s the thing, though – I don’t know if any of the second tier guys are ready to get the gold yet. And because of that factor, I think Aries is the clear choice to keep the belt – for now.
Joe’s Prediction: Austin Aries
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Not a big fan of Zema Ion. When I think of all the X-Division stars that have left over the years for Ion to come in, it annoys me greatly. Jesse Sorensen has been off TV for a good few weeks, and the Kash/Aries feud has been excellent so far. I’d like to see Sorensen get the strap one day, but I still feel it’s a bit too early for him.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Austin Aries.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Of the four men mentioned, Zema has now ousted Aries as my favorite.
Mark L.’s Prediction: ZEMA ION!
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Kid Kash
Monster’s Ball Match
Bully Ray vs. Abyss
Jarrett’s Thoughts: The No DQ match should be fun for two people who are heavily tied to that type of wrestling. With both being so associated with this match, I expect to see a fun match between the two and of course tables.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Bully Ray wins.
Joe’s Thoughts: I never thought that I would find myself interested in Bully Ray, but changing from Brother Ray to Bully Ray actually made him watchable each week. What makes him more watchable is watching him get beaten from pillar to post by a monster like Abyss. I think this one goes to the monster.
Joe’s Prediction: Abyss
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Brilliant heel vs. a maniacal, hardcore monster. Yet, I’m finding it hard to be motivated for this match. I hope Abyss breaks away from what’s left of Immortal, and gets back to destroying people for his own sick pleasure.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Abyss.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Bully Ray is not a monster. But I have seen him pull some wins out of his you-know-what… still….
Mark L.’s Prediction: Abyss
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Abyss
Kurt Angle vs. James Storm
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Possibly one of the Greatest Wrestlers of all time facing The most loved person in TNA in their third match is sure not to disappointing. I question why Storm hasn’t been allowed to hype this match up as much in the special way that he can, but Angle giving super kicks in a goofy looking cowboy hat was great TV. I don’t know if this is what we’ll see, but I’d love to see Storm transition into a program with Bobby Roode over the title that culminates at Lockdown.
Jarrett’s Prediction: James Storm wins
Joe’s Thoughts: This is another one of those matches where you have to consider who “gets” more out of a victory. At this point in the feud and at this point in each man’s career, I just don’t see how Kurt Angle winning does anything to help the character development of James Storm. So I’m going with the Tennessee Cowboy to win.
Joe’s Prediction: James Storm
Mark A.’s Thoughts: James Storm’s time off TV should stand him in good stead here. Angle is always at the top of his game. Now that Angle is injury-free, this should be a fantastic bout, full of story-telling and setting up a bigger, more important match in the future. This is my match of the night.
Mark A.’s Prediction: James Storm.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: I have no idea what’s going on with this feud and why it’s still going on or whatever.
Mark L.’s Prediction: James Storm
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Kurt Angle
Gunner vs. Rob Van Dam
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Gunner has looked impressive in the past several weeks and I’d hate for that to end here with RVD. After losing to Garett Bischoff in embarrassing fashion, Gunner needs this win to get back on track (and hopefully far away from the Executive Director’s son.)
Jarrett’s Prediction: Gunner picks up the win
Joe’s Thoughts: Unfortunately, I don’t think that Rob Van Dam is doing too much in iMPACT Wrestling right now so there’s no use in having him win. The best outcome for him would probably be do put on a five star performance and then hope he gets thrust into a more meaningful feud with someone other than Gunner. No offense to Gunner, but he’s going to win this match only because so much time has been dedicated to him on iMPACT Wrestling lately.
Joe’s Prediction: Gunner
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Gunner is a great heel. His build, his aggressiveness and his demeanor is borderline psychotic. His accent, however, brings his monstrous personality down. If Gunner can get that psychotic streak going in full flow, he could be the biggest heel in the company. RVD, on the other hand, just seems to be plodding along now…
Mark A.’s Prediction: Gunner.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: This needs to be Gunner’s year, and a victory against RVD would be a great start for it…
Mark L.’s Prediction: Gunner
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Rob Van Dam
D’Angelo Dinero vs. Devon
Jarrett’s Thoughts: I’m glad that after close to a year, we finally get the payoff to Devon’s kids showing up at iMPACT. If we had gotten this six months earlier, I might care. Ok, I’ll be honest, I still wouldn’t care. TNA has this weird fascination with families and it annoys me to no end. Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Eric Bischoff and now Devon’s family being highlighted weekly isn’t my cup of tea, especially when I’ve already seen enough family stuff on the programming in the last several years. I hope that they give Dinero the win and maybe get him as credible as he was in 2010, when he was challenging AJ Styles for the TNA Title in St. Louis.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Dinero wins
Joe’s Thoughts: Isn’t it funny how we now sort of know that Bully Ray actually did carry Team 3D? Poor Devon just can’t catch on with any character that he’s been given as a singles wrestler. I’m not sure that he was actually given a character after Team 3D split up, but he’s still not catching on with the fans. On the other hand, D’Angelo Dinero has taken off, landed, and taken off again since coming into iMPACT Wrestling. I think he’s ready to take off again – at the expense of Devon.
Joe’s Prediction: D’Angelo Dinero
Mark A.’s Thoughts: Not interested. Xplosion storyline that should never have made it to Impact on Spike. We’ve already had the Bischoff’s family feud, and that worked a lot better than this one. We don’t need another one. I still like Pope, though. Underrated, under-used, under appreciated.
Mark A.’s Prediction: Pope, with help from the sons.
Mark L.’s Thoughts: Oh, finally broke them up, huh?
Mark L.’s Prediction: Pope
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: D’Angelo Dinero
