Well, 2011 has come and gone and at TNAStars.com another set of staff predictions is officially in the books. The chart below shows a few interesting points about our team’s predictions. First, yours truly won the highest number of prediction contests with 7 out of 12 total sets of predictions. Jarrett Cox came in a close second by winning 6 out of 12 total prediction contests (though he only participated in 11 of the contests). Second, I also managed to properly predict the highest number of match outcomes with 64 positive results. Jarrett and Mark Littles (writer of A Mark’s View) tied for second place with 56 correct match outcome predictions.
However, the competition gets a little bit fuzzier when we try to figure out who had the highest winning percentage in 2011. If you look at the chart below, you’ll see that our excellent Xplosion reporter – Mark Ashworth – only participated in two rounds of staff predictions. Though Ashworth did an excellent job and managed to get a 75.00% winning percentage, I didn’t consider him in the final results since 2 out of 12 months isn’t really enough to participate fully in the contest.
Then we have the writer of Booth’s Eye View, the great Scott Booth. Scott was only able to participate in 5 out of 12 total contests so I’m considering removing his results from the final tally, too. However, Scott did have the highest winning percentage out of any of us with 78.37% of his predictions coming in correct.
With those two gentlemen removed from the contest, that leaves Jarrett, myself, Littles, and William. That group finished as follows:
- Jarrett: 66.67%
- Joe: 69.56%
- Littles: 65.11%
- William: 64.18%
So as you can see from these figures, I came in first with 69.56% of my predictions coming in correct while Jarrett came in second with 66.67% of his predictions coming to fruition. However, because this whole “contest” is all for fun and because I don’t like having two out of six total participants not considered in the final equation, I’m going to name a different winner for the 2011 staff predictions contest. And that winner is… YOU!
