Over the past week, we’ve spent some time crunching the numbers detailing iMPACT Wrestling’s cable rating and viewership performance for 2011. In short, the news looks good for the TNA team. Here are some of the major highlights from the last year of iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV:
Average Rating. In 20ll, iMPACT Wrestling achieved an average cable rating of 1.17. The average rating for the first hour of the show was 1.16 while the average rating for the second hour of the show was 1.18. This is a 0.12 of a ratings point improvement over TNA’s 2010 Thursday night average of 1.05.
Average Viewership. Over the course of the last twelve months, iMPACT Wrestling achieved an average of 1,612,500 viewers each week.
Highest Rating. The highest rated show of 2011 was the episode that aired on March 3, 2011. This episode received a 1.37 rating and brought in a total of 1,847,000 viewers.
Highest Viewership. iMPACT Wrestling also produced the most viewed episode in the company’s history on October 20, 2011. The episode of the show that aired on October 20th brought in an estimated 2,019,000 viewers.
Thursday Night War. Also in 2011, iMPACT Wrestling competed against the WWE Superstars program that aired for a short time on WGN America. Though the shows did not compete head-to-head, they often aired in overlapping time slots in different markets around the country. For the 14 shows in 2011 where these two programs both aired on Thursday nights, iMPACT Wrestling achieved an average rating of 1.23 while Superstars achieved an average rating of less than half of its competition with a 0.60.
