A little bit earlier today, Eric Bischoff posted a comment regarding last night’s Macon, Georgia tapings on Facebook. In his comment, he noted that the crowd last night was hot and the television tapings were great. Also, he suggested that taking iMPACT Wrestling tapings on the road full-time will help grow their brand faster than folks may think. The full text of his comments are listed below:
Headed back to Cody. Great TV’s last night. Crowd was super hot. Special thanks to the team @ TNA that promoted the market. The crowd were the stars of the shows!. Taking Impact on the road full time will grow this brand faster than anyone knows. Now is the time!
My personal perspective is that Bischoff is correct regarding live tapings and how they help grow the brand. Not only are the on-screen atmospheres more fun to watch during the live tapings, but when you can cram 3,000 – 5,000 people into a local civic center and get that place hot with excitement for the brand of iMPACT Wrestling you only serve to increase the likelihood of those fans coming back for a future taping (with friends). That’s how you build momentum. Oh, and I think even the most hateful internet critics have to admit that having a few thousand paying fans at a taping versus about (or slightly under) 1,000 non-paying fans in the iMPACT Wrestling Zone is a no brainer in terms of generating more revenue.

To the internet smarks, a few thousand for TNA’s attendance is nothing to the almighty WWE, constantly ignoring the differences in business age.

Guys, I have got some rather delightful news for you. This isn’t related to this article in any way, but you have to know.

You shall see that I posted a comment regarding an article which has been posted talking of BFG 2011’s “buy rates”. They all seem to think its fact, yet use no sources whatsoever. I confront them, and even the moderator of the site (Nick Palingo) replies to me to defend himself and the Observer Newsletter. I was going to post a big reply to him to prove my point, but a notice came up saying that I had been BLOCKED from commenting on the site. What’s funny, is that this happened not so long ago to a person who I often agreed with based on his comments applauding TNA. Nick Palingo confirmed he had been blocked from commenting on the site for “spamming”. And now the same has happened to me. This is what I was going to say in response to him before I got the notice which disabled me from posting it on there…
Nick’s reply to my comment on where the proof for the buy rates were: Direct quote from the latest issue of the Observer: “Preliminary estimates on Bound for Glory are ranging between 20,000 and 25,000 buys. Last year’s show did 35,000 to 40,000. Hulk Hogan’s previous PPV appearance (2006 SummerSlam vs. Randy Orton on a show headlined by Cena vs. Edge) did 336,000 domestic buys and 535,000 worldwide.”
– That was his defence on where the report came from, and here was going to be my response:
Direct Quote from me:
“There are reports coming in that Vince McMahon will be leaving next week and live the rest of his life in retirement. It is also believed that Kofi Kingston and Triple H both brawled in the back after a heated argument over who will take control of the company when Vince does decide to retire.
Meanwhile, Jack Swagger was caught showing his penis to Santino. Vince was said to be in ‘high spirits’ after this showing.”
See what I did there? I did exactly what someone like Meltzer did. I said something, and I expect it to come off as fact. Now of course, this won’t happen. Why? Well, its because I’m not exactly a reporter for the wrestling media. I am merely an outsider commenting on Wrestlezone articles and speaking my mind. The thing is, this sort of stuff gets passed around by dirt sheets and is expected to be regarded as fact, or at least factual evidence.
*SPOILER TO THOSE WHO DON’T ALREADY KNOW*

Remember that report you did on this site about Hogan stating in an interview how R***e wasn’t ready? The latest tapings say otherwise.
*END SPOILER*

How about the heavily rumoured Ted Dibiase Jr. face turn after his movie? Maybe even the one where the WWE was supposed to be banning the chops to the chest shortly after Flair joined TNA, as the WWE was said to be worried that if a wrestler did the chop, fans would “woo”, and it would make reference to Flair, who had just joined TNA? Or even the time you reported that Jericho had his very last match back at the NoC PPV last year? Maybe even the infamous retirement of The Undertaker at each WrestleMania? How could I forget, the very latest one, which was posted earlier today I believe was that Vince was said to be frustrated with Zack Ryder’s t-shirt because it said “Take care, spike your hair” and he was worrying that the word “Spike” may reference TNA to the viewers. Honestly, do you really expect us all to believe that? Did you sit there with your “insiders” and think that up for kicks and hits just because the headline would feature “Ryder” and “Vince McMahon”?
I could go on and on but the point is dirt-sheets out there, and yes, even this site Nicky, often report false information. Then the next day, you correct yourselves without admitting any fault whatsoever.
