USAToday.com reports here about the recent events involving former WWE announcer Todd Grisham. Grisham, who now works for ESPN, is in trouble because he used the term “trail of tears” on ESPNNews to describe Oklahoma football fans after their team’s loss to Texas Tech last week. Video is here. The term “trail of tears” is about Native American Cherokees who had their land taken from them in Georgia and had to move to Oklahoma, and thus created a hostile situation. The network issued a formal apology, followed by a personal apology from Todd Grisham, who happens himself to have Cherokee blood. The announced mentioned that he never even thought about that when he made the comment.
