TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Sting vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Kurt Angle
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Finally we get a TNA Title Match for this PPV! I think they should have announced this far earlier than they did, but at least they didn’t announce it online. I think at this juncture, it is obvious that Kurt walks out as Champion, I just don’t see him walking into Bound for Glory, in his home state, without the TNA Title.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Kurt Angle retains
Joe’s Thoughts: I view No Surrender as the event that sets the stage for next month’s Bound for Glory. So, who is going to enter the biggest pay-per-view of the year with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship? The only two wrestlers who could hold that title and have it make sense are Sting or Kurt Angle (Mr. Anderson doesn’t have the household name impact… yet). And with Angle just taking the belt back from Sting, I can’t imagine that Sting gets the title back so quickly – especially heading into Bound for Glory.
Joe’s Prediction: Kurt Angle
Mark’s Thoughts: It just seems really really clear that Angle’s taking the title to Bound for Glory. Sting’s got a match against Flair, and Anderson’s ability to hold a title is questionable at best, so… yeah.
Mark’s Prediction: Angle
William’s Thoughts: Sting vs. Flair has to be a title match, therefore Sting wins.
William’s Prediction: Sting
TNA World Tag Team Championship
D’Angelo Dinero & Devon vs. Mexican America
Jarrett’s Thoughts: I wish I could take Devon and Dinero as serious contenders for the Tag Titles, but I just can’t.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Mexican America retain
Joe’s Thoughts: Hmmm… I saw no storyline reason for Mexican America to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship and yet they won the titles. I see no good storyline reason for D’Angelo Dinero & Devon to win the straps either, but I don’t think that I’m wrong about this one. I think Mexican America holds the titles going into the biggest pay-per-view of the year.
Joe’s Prediction: Mexican America
Mark’s Thoughts: I really really hope that Pope and Devon don’t win simply because it would be a case of the Tag Team Titles being used as story line fodder. As much as I hate Mexican America, at least they’ve been built to be a legit team, and personally, that’s what the titles should be about… teams… oh how the mighty Tag Team Division has fallen…
Mark’s Prediction: Pope and Devon
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Mexican America
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Winter lost the Championship at the September 1st episode of iMPACT WRESTLING and between then and now (which has only been a week) Winter has done ZERO to impress me. If Winter wins the title back, not only will her first reign be a fluke, but so will Mickie’s latest reign. Winter looked bad for losing the championship on the first defense and it would be a big mistake for Mickie to do the exact same thing.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Mickie James retains
Joe’s Thoughts: This is a tough one for me only because with this title flipping so quickly lately, how can you project a logical winner? I’m going to go with Mickie James (though I think Winter is awesome – smokin’ hot) only because I think that she is a bigger name in women’s wrestling and iMPACT Wrestling has to put their biggest names forward heading into Bound for Glory. By the way, I also think that she’ll be facing off against Angelina Love at Bound for Glory, but that’s an assumption based off of the number of people who land at TNAStars.com after searching “Angelina Love.”
Joe’s Prediction: Mickie James
Mark’s Thoughts: I foresee a dirty victory.
Mark’s Prediction: Winter
William’s Thoughts: Not a huge fan of Winter, I actually wonder how she ever got so much TV time. My prediction is also my hope. Winter is
William’s Prediction: Mickie James
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Kendrick needed to lose the title at Hardcore Justice in my opinion. Aries is the most over wrestler in the X-Division. Kendrick has gotten to the point that he is everything that Aries is accusing him of on-screen and that is a bad position for a face to be in.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Aries wins the X Division Championship
Joe’s Thoughts: I actually like Brian Kendrick and this weird, quirky character that he’s playing right now. However, I think it’s time for the investment in Austin Aries to pay off – the fans like this guy and he plays a great heel. I think he goes into Bound for Glory with the strap.
Joe’s Prediction: Austin Aries
Mark’s Thoughts: This should be a very entertaining, very intense match. This could mess around and be match of the night for me.
Mark’s Prediction: Austin Aries
William’s Thoughts: I’m a huge fan of the X-Division and if these guys just shut up and wrestle I’m sure this will be a great match.
William’s Prediction: Austin Aries
Jarrett’s Thoughts: The Network wants the X Division highlighted, the X Division is the cornerstone of TNA. If both of those statements are true, this match should have been announced ON IMPACT WRESTLING! With my prediction of Aries walking out the new X Division Champion, I don’t see the veteran in Kash walking out next in line for a shot.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Jesse Sorensen
Joe’s Thoughts: I’m so glad that iMPACT Wrestling decided to sign both of these great talents. Kid Kash provides a wily veteran for the X-Division and Jesse Sorensen provides the fresh-faced future of the division. That said, I know from my own personal experience running TNAStars.com that a LOT of people are searching for more information on Jesse Sorensen, so I have to imagine that the folks at iMPACT Wrestling know that he has the fan momentum right now.
Joe’s Prediction: Jesse Sorensen
Mark’s Thoughts: Another match that should be intense considering what these two have put into this feud. This one’s hard to call.
Mark’s Prediction: Jesse Sorensen
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Kid Kash
Bound for Glory Series Match
Bobby Roode vs. Gunner
Jarrett’s Thoughts: If Roode, Storm, and Ray can’t take him seriously, why should I, or any viewer?
Jarrett’s Prediction: Booby Roode advances
Joe’s Thoughts: Even though he’s a bad guy, I enjoy watching Gunner perform. He’s got the moves and he’s rather smooth in the ring. However, since I think that Bully Ray is going to win the other match, I think that this one goes to Bobby Roode.
Joe’s Prediction: Bobby Roode
Mark’s Thoughts: Because I honestly think that Bobby Roode is going to win the whole thing… (though personally, I would LOVE to see the story line logic break and have Gunner take everything)
Mark’s Prediction: Bobby Roode
William’s Thoughts: Gunner has improved in the ring lately but I’m still giving the edge to Bobby.
William’s Prediction: Bobby Roode
Bound for Glory Series Match
Bully Ray vs. James Storm
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Bully Ray is on the roll of his life and should have been TNA Champion this summer instead of playing hotcake between Sting, Anderson, and Angle in my personal opinion, he just has to advance. Plus Roode and Bully Ray would be a great BFG Series final.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Bully Ray
Joe’s Thoughts: Unfortunately, I think that James Storm is more or less going to be stuck as a tag team specialist for the next few years of his career. Plus, Bully Ray shocked the entire world with how successful his “bully” character has become since it was introduced. I think he’s got the head of steam heading into this pay-per-view and, ultimately, the final Bound for Glory Series showdown.
Joe’s Prediction: Bully Ray
Mark’s Thoughts: But I don’t think it’s going to be a Roode vs. Storm fight, not with Immortal involvement…
Mark’s Prediction: Bully Ray
William’s Thoughts: I would like Storm to win but my gut tells me otherwise.
William’s Prediction: Bully Ray
Samoa Joe vs. Matt Morgan
Jarrett’s Thoughts: I’m glad to see Matt Morgan healed up and in action, it is a shame he couldn’t be in the BFG Main Event, but who knows what may happen on the road to Bound for Glory. Samoa Joe has been for the first time since 2008, Samoa Joe is a threat in TNA and may be in line for a Title Shot, but I don’t see a victory against the DNA of TNA in his future
Jarrett’s Prediction: Matt Morgan
Joe’s Thoughts: For some reason, I really can’t stomach this character that Samoa Joe is playing. In my world, he’s getting the equivalent of X-Pac Heat (i.e. people booing him because his character is a bore, not because he’s the bad guy in the match). Matt Morgan needs to start getting some momentum again coming off of his injury and this seems like the right place to start.
Joe’s Prediction: Matt Morgan
Mark’s Thoughts: Don’t really care, which is a shame, as I like both of these guys… something’s really lack luster about this feud thus far… I feel like it needs to be a bit more personal before I care. As much as Samoa Joe needs a win to his name, I’m hoping that a Matt Morgan win will make this even more interesting than it already isn’t.
Mark’s Prediction: Matt Morgan
William’s Thoughts:
