Former iMPACT Wrestling star Kevin Nash was released by WWE earlier today. The statement from the Stamford, Connecticut company was brief and can be read in its entirety right here:
“WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Kevin Nash as of Monday, Sept. 5, 2011. We wish Kevin the best in all future endeavors.”
Nash didn’t wait too long to respond via Twitter, noting that he didn’t intend to talk about the details of the release. In his tweet, Nash mentioned that he couldn’t come to financial terms with WWE for his deal. Here is what Nash posted on Twitter:
“To set the record straight, I passed physical w/ flying colors. Cardiologist was amazed at my lipid profile. Couldn’t reach financial terms. I will not be addressing this matter again. I am moving forward with my life. Cena, it was great having the chance to get to know you.”
That’s pretty much all we know at this point, but if I had to offer some commentary I’d suggest that this is all part of some smark, storyline swerve up in WWE. I have no expectation that Nash is actually done with the promotion nor do I imagine he is now on the free market for potential re-entrance into iMPACT Wrestling.
