Various interweb wrestling “news” sites are reporting that the premiere episode of CMT’s new series “Made” which featured Impact Wrestling star Matt Morgan drew an 0.07 cable rating with 83,000 viewers.
The responsible sites have reported this for what it is a decent rating on a low rated cable network. The TNA hate sites of course have decided this is a reflection of TNA’s popularity or lack thereof. To correlate one with the other of course is silly.
WWE’s wrestlers often appear in movies that bomb or series that don’t make a ratings dent. This isn’t a reflection of the WWE’s popularity, but a fact that pro wrestling fans often do not follow their favorite stars to other forms of entertainment. Shaquille O’Neal was at one time at the height of his popularity in one of the most popular sports in the world, he still couldn’t get anyone to sit down and watch Kazaam.
Congratulations are in order to Matt Morgan for getting 83,000 eyes on the wrestling industry that may not hav seen any of it in awhile.
