Also, Tara reports that she will be a part of the upcoming Undie Dash – a charity event where people run in their underwear (ummm, pictures please). In addition to these two updates, Tara also posted that she is getting ready to sign a lease on a new restaurant in Chicago.
The newly crowned Knockout Tag Team Champion seems to have a whole bunch of different projects going on! For these updates – as well as an update on winning the Knockout Tag Team Championship with Miss Tessmacher – you should read Tara’s full blog update. Hey Widow’s Peak Freaks !
As the title may indicate, I have been soooo busy since I’ve moved to Chicago. Of course I’ve been having fun. I’ve gone to a Cubs game, a White Sox game, I took Sophie (my adopted pit bull) to a dog beach they have here, I’ve gone to a couple comedy shows. It’s been a blast! But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working.
I signed on with Chicago Athlete Magazine to write a fitness column. I believe my first one comes out in the November issue. I will be participating in the Undie Dash (a charity event where we do a 5K run in our undies for charity) next week. I am very close to signing a lease on my Chicago restaurant. I’ve been doing the paperwork side of the business, but even after we sign the lease, it will be a few months before we open. I will be at Chicago Comic Con next month, and at another Chicago sports memorabilia show next month too. My first TNA action figure just came out. And best of all, Miss Tessmacher and I just won the Knockouts Tag Team belts! Ka-Bam!!!
I want to discuss the Tag Team belts for a minute. I have been wrestling for 12 years, longer than any female in either WWE or TNA. But I am still a huge fan of the industry. When the wrestlers are watching the show backstage, and someone does some crazy maneuver, the loudest reaction is always from me. And no organization will give a wrestler, or superstar ; ) , the opportunity to be in a position to win a championship belt if they didn’t have faith in their character and ability. They used to kid me at WWE because I was so proud of my belt when I had it, and I would carry it around with me backstage. But after I won the tag team belt, I saw Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan watching the show backstage. I thanked them for the opportunity. At first they thought I was joking because I’m a veteran but I was still sooo excited about winning it.
I have heard it debated whether there needs to be a Women’s Tag Team Belt. And when I was training in MMA, I’ve heard people question the validity of a pro wrestling belt. But let me say this on behalf of Miss Tessmacher and I…we worked very hard to earn these belts. We love them. And every time that we put them on the line, you are guaranteed to see our best and get an unparalleled match. Because we’re the Champs : )
