Interview highlights courtesy of Paterson, MNM’s associate producer & official correspondent:
His mindset leading into his Ultimate X Contract Match at TNA/Impact Wrestling’s Destination X Pay-Per-View: “My mindset is go hard or go home…that simple. Same mindset I had going into NXT. I don’t see myself as a trial guy, although that’s where I’m at currently with Impact Wrestling. I’m accomplished, I’m credible. I probably shouldn’t be in this, but this is what I’m involved in at this moment, so make an example of these guys and show them that I sacrificed a lot of my life to be at a level in this profession.”
His thoughts about his experience as a WWE Superstar & why he believes it did not work out for him in the long run: “It’s simple: I’m a professional wrestler. They’re looking for entertainers. They’re looking for people who are going to make fools out of themselves in order to entertain people. That’s not me. I’ve performed for nearly 15 years, because I wanted to become a professional wrestler. I wanted to earn the respect of the audience, people who paid their hard-earned money to see professional wrestling and not insult their intelligence. Unfortunately, that’s not what the WWE presents. This is not an instance of me being bitter & angry at them, I knew what I was getting into when I got there.”
If he has been approached to return to Ring of Honor & whether or not he could envision himself being a part of ROH’s long-term future with Sinclair Broadcasing: “With Sinclair Broadcasting becoming the new owners of Ring of Honor, I haven’t been approached. I’m always open for discussion, because I am a businessman. From what I have heard, because I am unfamiliar with the Ring of Honor product currently, I can present a very fresh match up for a large amount of wrestlers on that roster. On top of that, I have a history with the company, so just simply thinking, it would be a progressive step if we could negotiate business. But again, I haven’t been contacted by them, so if the opportunity presents itself, I am open for discussion.”
Much more is contained in Low-Ki’s exclusive interview with The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network, including his candid thoughts on returning to The Impact Zone after a three+ year absence, how he believes TNA has changed for the better since leaving in early 2008, his Ultimate X Match at Destination X (vs. Austin Aries, Zima Ion, & Jack Evans), what statement he believes this Pay-Per-View can make to the wrestling world, his release from the WWE last December, whether or not the WWE knew what they were getting when they signed him to their roster, whether the company tried to change him toward their product, the motivation behind pairing him with LayCool (Michelle McCool & Layla) on NXT & if they helped him in any way, plus much more!
