The final cable rating and viewership estimates for last night’s episode of iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV are now available and it looks like the show rebounded somewhat from last week, but was still hurt by the NBA Finals. iMPACT Wrestling’s flagship show had a decrease in its final ratings number, but an overall increase in viewership as compared to last week. This week’s episode of the show scored a final cable rating of 1.01 which represented about 1,483,000 viewers over the course of the show’s two hours. This week’s final rating is 0.08 of a point lower (but still some 31,000 more viewers) than last week’s episode, which scored a final cable rating of 1.09 with an average audience of 1,452,000 viewers.
On occasion, the cable ratings have weird glitches like we see this week – even though the final ratings went down the number of viewers still went up from last week. This has to do with the number of people watching television overall last night versus the number of people watching television overall versus last Thursday night (which is a statistic that is very hard to control when there are major events like the NBA Finals on broadcast television). Reasons like this are why we report the viewership numbers as well as the final cable ratings. Also, take note that the last two weeks’ worth of “final cable ratings” for iMPACT Wrestling have been adjusted up (albeit by only 0.01 each week) as more data was made available. If this week’s final rating changes, we’ll make the change here and report it in the comments section below.
We also know a little bit about the ratings breakdown by hour from this week’s show. The first hour of this week’s iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV scored a final cable rating of 1.00 while the second hour scored a final cable rating of 1.01. Last night’s episode of iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV had more viewers than prime time programming on other cable channels like TruTV, Bravo, TLC, Comedy Central, Discovery, History, and ESPN.
