Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today announced that TNA Wrestling iMPACT! is now available simultaneously on mobile platforms, including Apple® iOS, Android, Java (J2ME), Brew and RIM handsets. With a roster of more than 24 characters to choose from, including Hulk Hogan, AJ Styles, Ric Flair, and Kurt Angle, the game puts players in control of the biggest superstars of professional wrestling. TNA Wrestling iMPACT! offers a variety of game modes and match types, including Career Mode, Cage Mode, Tag-Team and Submission Mode, making it the complete mobile wrestling experience TNA fans have been waiting for.

Fans of wrestling can relive moments of glory through the eyes of classic wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, while new brawlers can carve out a whole new career of their own with a comprehensive career mode that lets players customize unique move sets, costumes and finishing moves. Whether a seasoned superstar or hungry scrapper, players will fight their way to the top to become the TNA Heavyweight, Tag Team or X-Division champion.
TNA Wrestling iMPACT! takes advantage of the iOS platform and offers full Game Center support with a leaderboard and more than 20 challenging in-game achievements. With full Retina display graphics, characters pop off the screen with razor-sharp detail. Players can go head-to-head against one another through local multiplayer via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi as well as online multiplayer through Apple’s Game Center. The game is compatible with the iPhone®, iPod touch® and the iPad™.

I’ve had the pleasure of purchasing and playing this game today (the IPad version). I’m thinking of writing an in depth review when I have more time with it, but I can say that it’s a simple, fun, wrestling game, slower paced and strategic. It’s not perfect–it could use some voice acting, and some better sound design for starters–but it’s definitely fun. This isn’t by any means an “arcade” wrestling game, so don’t expect WWE All Stars.
If you’re a TNA fan, and you like video games, it’s definitely worth the purchase.
