Those of you looking to check out your favorite TNA Wrestling news and information on Facebook will have to go to a new URL. As of a few hours ago, TNA Wrestling changed its official Facebook URL from http://www.facebook.com/tnawrestling to http://www.facebook.com/impactwrestling
If you go to http://www.facebook.com/tnawrestling you’ll wind up on Bill Banks’ (a backstage employee for TNA Wrestling) Facebook page. So remember, from here on out you want to go to http://www.facebook.com/impactwrestling in order to find TNA Wrestling on Facebook.
Enjoy!

I’m starting to become a little concerned with TNA’s marketing effort. The messages are very conflicting. The official line seemed to be that only the iMPACT! show has received a name change.
But if you look at the spoiler pics of the Impact Zone there is no visible TNA log, and now they have changed their Facebook page away from TNA Wrestling. If it’s just a re branding of the show, why change the company’s Facebook page name?
Joe says
You’re absolutely correct, William. Everything that has come out “officially” regarding the name change has focused on the Thursday night show being rebranded – only.
Either there is someone who is overzealous in the marketing department down in Nashville or the message that was delivered to the world was really incorrect. It seems like the proper message was that the entire company is rebranding and the letters “TNA” are going to be reserved for corporate events, to be used as a trade name, etc.

I heard that the initials “TNA” were going to be slowly phased out over the coming months, until it is completely gone and the official name would indeed be “IMPACT WRESTLING”. I hope it is, I love TNA, but I have despised that name since I started watching. I told my Dad recently (met him for first time in years) that I watch a wrestling promotion (he used to be a fan of wrestling) called TNA. He looked at me as if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears and said “Uh, TNA… ??”
The name was never appropriate, IMO. I’m glad of the re-branding and, possibly, the re-booting of the whole company.
By the way, if TNA does indeed change its name fully, does this mean you guys would change your domain name too? IWstars (Impact Wrestling Stars) sounds like a cool site name, lol.
Joe says
Ha ha! I purchased a few “impact____________.com” domain names just in case, but I don’t think I’d switch over right away (if at all). There’s a whole process involved in getting listed on certain mainstream news websites (Google) and a brand new domain name for a fan website would be tough to manage.
But you never know what we may have going on here, Radiitz…
