WWE editor/writer Craig Tello posted today about a TNA Impact Wrestling billboard near the WWE HQ in Stamford, CT via his official Twitter account, “Just saw a #TNA billboard in Stamford on the train to work @WWE. They re-booking the Invasion angle? #IWantWrestling…to stop recycling.”. Craig also posted a picture of the billboard, but has since taken it down.
Jim Ross weighed in on the subject today via his BBQ blog, “Yes…I heard about TNA putting up billboards in Stamford, Ct which is the world HQ of WWE. Thoughts? A complete waste of money unless obscure mentions such as this one is what TNA is looking for. Silly expenditure of money IMO. One would think that organization would have bigger and more important fish to fry. However, what TNA does isn’t any of my business or concern but the question was asked and has now been addressed. I would guess that many WWE, Stamford based employees learned of TNA for the first time via the local billboards.”
Craig, needs to go back and watch the Invasion angle, I’m not sure he understands what he is talking about. He shouldn’t feel so threatened. If it’s not a big deal why did WWE have him take down his Tweeted picture?
While J. R. has a right to his opinion and I’m sure is responding honestly, this billboard has put TNA on hundreds of news boards that cover WWE only, thus bringing awareness to this marketing effort. Billboards are not that expensive, fans here in Cincinnati take out ads against the Bengals management all the time for very little coin.

yeah, right jim ross. those comments of his barbeque-frying mouth has gotta stop, i mean.. WWE ain’t WRESTLING anymore, right? that’s what they freakin’ spread throughout the internet.. [well, that’s just a little reminder ofhow they suck and how silly they are]
what do they care if TNA puts up a WRESTLING billboard? JR has GOTTA SHUT UP FOR LIFE STARTING TODAY!!!

He is actually 100% correct. I mean, think about it. Stanmford isn’t a big markt for the wrestling audience anyway, and the ads near the WWE HQ in which will only be seen by people in that area (barely any) is a complete waste of money because, lets face it, its not like the WWE organises tours for fans to take a stroll around the HQ to see more behind the scenes stuff… Wait, what’s that?! They DO hold tours?!
J.R, and all the other people who think this is a “waste of money” need to enlighten themselves, and realise that THEY are a waste of brain cells. I don’t understand why people were bitching about TNA not advertising enough, yet they now are (Stamford is one of its key areas), and now they’re bitching again. From what I’ve heard, they now advertise “IMPACT WRESTLING” during Smackdown commercials. Bad advertising, eh?
The biggest plus about the billboard around WWE’s own HQ though, is the fact that Vinnie Mac is gunna have to endure the visions of “IMPACT WRESTLING” ads on his way to work in the mornings, LOL.

P.S I saw a photo of the new IMPACT Zone. Its not quite the Blue and Gold look, but its still very nice! It resembles an early Smackdown! colouring. Basically, it the ring apron has the 2002 look (black, white and blue) and the ropes are blue instead of black.
