The final cable rating and viewership estimates for this week’s episode of iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV are now available. TNA Wrestling’s flagship show had a strong increase in both its final ratings number and overall viewership as compared to last week. This week’s episode of the show scored a final cable rating of 1.26 which represented about 1,809,000 viewers over the course of the show’s two hours. This week’s final rating is 0.11 of a point higher (and about 242,000 more viewers) than last week’s episode, which scored a final cable rating of 1.15 with an average audience of 1,567,000 viewers
We also know a little bit about the ratings breakdown by hour from this week’s show. The first hour of this week’s iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV scored a final cable rating of 1.21 while the second hour scored a final cable rating of 1.32. In addition, the final quarter hour of the show scored a 1.41, which is a big rating for this program. Last night’s iMPACT Wrestling on Spike TV had more viewers than programming on other cable channels like Bravo, Cartoon Network, TBS, Versus, and A&E.
For comparison’s sake, TNAStars.com used to promote a completely fictitious Thursday Night War as a comedy piece on this website. WWE may have won the short-lived 2010 Monday Night War, but TNA Wrestling won the 2010 – 2011 Thursday Night War!
If you’re interested in iMPACT!’s ratings performance for 2010 and the first half of 2011, then check out TNAStars.com’s Ratings War area. In the Ratings War area you can see a comparison of iMPACT! vs. Monday Night RAW and iMPACT! vs. Superstars from all of 2010 and 2011. Enjoy!

Thank Goodness for the jump. I was worried for a moment it may have been low again.
lol says
whats so big about this jump? then next week their gonna go back to the 1.1
William B. West says
This episode had a noticeably improved flow to the show, I’m sure that kept more people tuned in, instead of tuning out. Let’s hope TNA can build on this next week.
Joe says
Updated some of the numbers based on new reports – the jump was actually bigger than initially reported.
Radiitz says
@lol
Its good because it shows people are still interested. Atleast they haven’t been stuck at a 1.1 for weeks in a row.

@William B.
I’ve noticed this too. Ever since Victory Road, IMPACT WRESTLING has been more smoother. I’ve noticed a sort of trend with the shows now. It seems to be a new formula. It goes Wrestling, then Promo, then Wrestling, then another Promo, then Wrestling, etc. I’m loving this continuous way, too.
It’s almost as if they are making up for the Victory Road debacle (which unfortunately over-shadows the rest of the show, which was outstanding I thought).

Sorry for the multiple comments, but I just noticed Joe’s comment and the change of rating in the article. A 1.3 is indeed a big jump! Only thing is, the dirt sheets have only posted the first rating (1.22 I believe it originally was thought to be?) and they haven’t updated the rating. I hate when they do stuff like this. It could ease the haters minds a little more if they just updated.
William B. West says
Keep the comments coming Radiitz, there is never too many. We all enjoy reading what real fans think, that’s what this site is all about.
I hope they stick with this new formula. They definitely have the talent to reach great heights, the job is keeping the existing audience and drawing more eyes in. I think this weeks show was a great step in that direction.
Lee says
Thank God. Impact deserves higher ratings. And looks like Foley ( the genius that he is) is taking the company in a new direction. Or so it seems. I am losing on Wwe, getting too childish & hard to watch without squirming inside. Lol. Haha funny, but seriously, I love seeing the increase
Joe says
Yet another correction – it was a 1.26, not a 1.27.
The guy who normally reports the ratings data information to all of the feeder websites was off this week, so all of the data was delayed and – clearly – just a bit off the mark.
vito says
lol @ Joe’s comment (if there was a comma) “just a bit off, the mark”
anyhow. what i was actually going to say is that this Impact Wrestling didn’t even have a main event! You’d think that if wrestling matters, they’d give us a main event, but on the other hand maybe the X division storyline will place all the matches right at the beginning/middle of the show (where the X division always is, even though they could be main events… scratch that, SHOULD BE main events)
oh well, it’ll be nice to see them get some spotlight, they deserve it, Kendrick needs the push, and Abyss should definitely not be wrestling X division guys, Kaz carried their match..
Joe says
vito – Unlike every other person who owns a professional wrestling website or writes for one, I don’t run away from the idea that I’m a mark (and so are you – and so is everyone reading this) for the product. 🙂
http://www.tnastars.com/2010/01/08/major-impact-youre-all-a-bunch-of-marks/
vito says
Agreed, Joe, we’re all marks. And that’s why I like this site so much. I don’t go anywhere else for rasslin’ reading cause here everything is either noted at a rumour, speculation, or fact, people here correct false reports, and never claim to be “experts” of the “IWC”. We’re all just marks hoping the best for TNA (most of us are probably 20-30 and were WCW fans). I just thought something being “off the mark” and “off, the mark” was punny 😛
Joe says
Absolutely was punny, vito. And thanks for being a fan of TNAStars.com!
You bring up a good point about being an old WCW fan – I definitely am an old school WCW fan. I wonder how many other old WCW fans are out there…
