If you’re any bit of an internet wrestling fan, then you’ve probably read the new reports out today suggesting that the stories from a few weeks ago regarding Dixie Carter being forced into a reduced role in the company might have been overblown. What I found funny about those “stories” is that there was never a single bit of evidence to support them. Rather (like always), the major rumor mongers created a story that they ultimately destroyed a few weeks later.
All for the sake of getting more clicks and more hits. Sad.
In Carter’s case, she used the rebranding of TNA Wrestling’s flagship television show to iMPACT Wrestling to promote the company’s new slogan. Earlier today, Carter posted the following update on her Facebook page:
WRESTLING MATTERS……pass it on
If Carter begins to take a more prominent role in the public eye of the company again, we’ll report her updates and comments right here on TNAStars.com. If she chooses to continue to stay behind the scenes – don’t take that to mean that she’s no longer involved with the company’s operations!

Good story Joe. I love that several of the dirt sheets that help spread the “Dixie was forced out” rumor are this week reporting those stories are false without mentioning they were the ones who made it up in the first place. Why anyone would patronize sites like that is beyond me.

In an era of pro wrestling when Vince McMahon refuses to acknowledge that he runs a wrestling company, it is encouraging to know that TNA and Dixie Carter have not forgotten. I’m hoping this is an indication that the company will begin to really hone in and showcase what makes them different and special, rather than try to compete with or imitate WWEs brand of entertainment.

Thanks for the compliment, William.
I agree, Dylan. If this is the beginning of a larger focus on highlighting the amazing athletes that call TNA Wrestling home, then I’m all for “wrestling matters here.”

This could be the start of something huge for TN… for IMPACT WRESTLING. Its like the wars all over again. WWF was this cartoony bash, and WCW offered the true alternative with cursing, violence, heavy drama, cruiser-weights, etc. Whilst people will bash TNA for doing this because it makes them look like WCW, I don’t think the “fans” have a clue.
This is a new era. It is nearly 15 years AFTER WCW took a different direction to catapult them into early success. This is a whole new audience now with only the absolute hardcore long watching fans of wrestling left. WWE is bringing IMPACT WRESTLING’s audience, to IMPACT WRESTLING (God that name is growing on me already). If you think about it, these kiddie fans of the WWE have NEVER seen anything like what WWF and WCW did back in the day. But as they get older, they will get bored and tired of the cartoonish Super-Cena. They will be wanting to retreat from the laughable storylines, and the corny jokes. They will be looking for an alternative once they become older. And then, they will stumble upon a little thing called the iMPACT Zone.
They will see IMPACT WRESTLING. They will see how edgy it is. How prominent the roles are for each wrestler. How exciting and entertaining the wrestlers (and their characters) really are. They will jump ship to the more edgy promotion, and WWE will be relying on a new breed of fans for a while. But as we all know, there is a broader adult audience than there is kids. WWE will learn that (once again) and they will be forced to change into the bad-ass promotion it once was. Then it will be IMPACT WRESTLING vs WWE.
That’s all my opinion anyway. No matter what people say, whether IMPACT WRESTLING is “ripping off” old storylines, or WCW in general, the haters will never acknowledge that the KID FANS of today have NEVER seen this stuff before. WCW may have done it before, but IMPACT WRESTLING will bring it into the 21st century to contaminate (in a good way) the minds of these future teens/adults. Its just a continuous evolution in my mind. Only difference is, WWE just doesn’t have it in them anymore (in my opinion). IMPACT WRESTLING may very well mop the floor with WWE in the future, when the time comes. And if they still have Panda Energy with them, things do indeed look bleak in the future of the E.

Damnit, my avatar still hasn’t made it on this site. Oh well, lol.

I wonder what the deal is with the Gravitar? Joe any idea?
Joe says
I’ll look into it – but it should be working fine.
