FUEL TV ACQUIRES TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING’S FLAGSHIP PROGRAM ‘TNA iMPACT!’
Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, the organisation that is home to Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and the baddest figures in professional wrestling, comes to FUEL TV next month after Australia’s only dedicated 24-hour action sports channel acquired the broadcast rights to its marquee TNA iMPACT! series.
Previously broadcast on Fox 8, the popular and controversial television series makes its way to FUEL TV and will premiere on Saturday 11 June at 8.30pm AEST. TNA iMPACT! brings together a host of the world’s meanest and most outlandish male and female wrestling superstars and features four to seven matches in a two hour show which also captures all the surrounding drama, hype and interviews interspersed between the action in the ring.
Adam Howarth, Fuel TV Australia Channel Manager, said TNA iMPACT! is a welcome addition to the channel’s ever-expanding action sports portfolio.
“We’re absolutely wrapt to be bringing iMPACT! to FUEL TV and building on our TNA wrestling offering for its legion of fans across the country,” said Howarth.
“Since April 2010 we’ve screened the classics series, TNA Epics, and now we’ve secured TNA’s most popular television series which is a massive win for fans. Now they’ll be able to tune into FUEL TV to get their total TNA fix,” he said.
“Each episode of TNA iMPACT! will go to air on FUEL TV less than 48 hours after they debut in the U.S., so the turnaround on broadcasts will be fast and Australian fans will be able to keep pace with the series in America.”
Howarth said FUEL TV’s coverage of TNA iMPACT! will supplement FOXTEL and AUSTAR’s coverage of Pay-Per-View TNA events on the Main Event channel.
“If you are a fan of TNA then FOXTEL and AUSTAR are the only place you will be able to see TNA iMPACT! and the Pay-Per-View events.”
