Word circulating on the interwebs today is that TNA has submitted an application to trademark the term “iMPACT! Wrestling”. I did some searching of the United States Patent and Trademark Office and found this to be the case, though the story is new the application was made in February.

It’s interesting to note that on Oct. 16, 2010 a Dean Broadhead of Nashville, Tennessee also applied for the TM, his application has not been answered but I’m guessing with TNA’s currently registered “TNA IMPACT! TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING” his application will be denied as it will be considered a variation..
Very, very interesting…
This doesn’t really mean anything, TNA has the trademark for “3 Count” which is listed as, I think, a “supplement” [something like that] yet they haven’t done any thing with it.

iMPACT-Wrestling-Federation. The iWF. MAKE IT HAPPEN TNA!
Also, iMPACT Wrestling is a good name, but what would it be for short IF its an actual name change (like the rumours floating around)? The iW?
“Ladies and Gentlemen. LIVE from the Georgia Dome (I can dream)! iMPACT Wrestling! ….” That’s it? I hope they add another word at the end. Federation, Entertainment, hell, how about iMPACT Championship Wrestling? The ICW? I know, I know. Its like the WCW name, but seriously, who gives a rats ass outside the internet smarks who think they know more about pro-wrestling behind their keyboards?
I’m willing to bet that it’ll just be a change for iMPACT: “TNA iMPACT Wrestling” or something to that extent. It’s like how RAW is “Monday Night RAW” or Smackdown is “Friday Night Smackdown”.
