Source: Twitter & Mark Littles
You may have read yesterday’s report regarding all of the recent hullabaloo surrounding Desmond Wolfe and his health. In that report, we didn’t comment on the update to this story which comes from Hulk Hogan’s Twitter account because, frankly, I didn’t have the time or inclination to search for that particular tweet from the Hulkster.
However, TNAStars.com’s own Mark Littles put in the effort to find the tweet where Hogan talks about Wolfe and this is what Mark was able to find:
On April 15th, a user known as mitaka_88 asked when Wolfe would return , Hulk replied that “the ball is completely in his [Wolfe’s] court.”
That’s the absolute latest that we can find on Desmond Wolfe’s employment status with TNA Wrestling. All of these irresponsible hate sites that are putting up “confirmed” rumors and “confirmations” that Wolfe has Hepatitis C should be ashamed. This is only a rumor and has only ever been a rumor. As we always warn our readers – be careful which websites you read. In fact, let this be a learning experience. If any of the websites that you frequent are displaying a headline that suggests or purports to confirm that Wolfe has this virus, you should probably stop going to that website. And why not take some action and contact the webmaster to ask them why they are lying about that story?
Anyway, just some commentary at the end of this entry. My apologies!

Wishing it isn’t true and not being true are two different things, and while I agree with your assessment that a lot of sites are looking for hits; the contempt and “call to arms” approach that you take in both posts makes you sound like a child boycotting Walmart because you don’t want to believe the truth about Santa rather than an honest reporter seeking some journalistic integrity. Just saying.

Providing thats your ‘TNA Wrestling News’ site keeps putting links to see female rappers bottoms, you are encouraged to print any old garbage, and the republish the exact same lies with the same wording a few days later with ‘UPDATE OMFG’ IN THE HEADLINE.
If Des had Hep C, then surely:
a) The ball wouldnt be in his court
b) TNA wouldnt suggest on air that he was due back soon.

Ceasar, I gotta say your post is contradictory. Joe clearly is calling out those who lack integrity by repeating this unproven rumor as fact. It is never childish to demand that the site you read and support report honestly. I have personally quit reading several sites because they repeat the same BS over and over again without sources. If you like that kinda stuff, more power to you.
Joe says
Hey Caesar – I welcome the comment and even though I agree that your comment is inherently contradictory, I’m glad that you chose to post it at TNAStars.com.
The fact is that there are STILL websites out there saying, “DESMOND WOLFE HAS HEP C!!!” when this is not only an unproven rumor, but a personally and professionally offensive statement about the person in question.
Supporting those websites and their blatant attempt at getting more hits through completely fabricated headlines would be like believing Baghdad Bob when he said that the Americans were nowhere to be found – yet you could clearly see our tanks behind the guy. So while I appreciate your comment, I’m not the type of guy who thinks sticking his head in the sand is the right way to go about business. Thanks again for the comment.
gudge – You know, I’m glad someone else sees the “formula” on some of those trashy sites. Today it’s, OMG Suggestive Headline! with the “story” being that the suggestion in the headline isn’t really true. Then 2 or 3 days go by and it’s Update on Suggestive Headline! with the “story” being that the original false story is – you guessed it – still false.

Gudge & Joe- I hope I didn’t come off as saying I believed these sites, not the case. My statement was geared more towards the content and overall tone of your pieces where you rightfully address the sites citing rumor as fact, but wrongfully seem to take a position that the opposing view is fact, i.e. if they claim Hep C as fact, you claim not Hep C as fact. That’s just how the tone of the article comes across. I’m speaking more of the first one. So while I do agree with your assessment about these sites, it was the execution thereof where I found fault. It is media’s job to stay impartial, and just the same as you would expect some sort of contraction from these sites if all is found to be false, as a media personality I’d hope you’d also be one to stand up and say ‘They were right on this one.” if they end up being right all along. Even if you have to add “but they’re still hacks.” It’s damaging to lie, but it useless to be late in a business that’s called NEWs.
On a side note to the both of you, I would like to say how refreshing it is to be able to post an opposing view somewhere and the initial reaction is not one of hate and disgust, but rather one of depth. I’m sure I don’t have to tell either of you how nasty comments sections get in the blink of an eye, especially when it comes to wrestling and it’s fans, and it makes the whole comment experience utterly worthless. Thumbs up guys.
