Part of me feels like a broken record because I’m always saying that I hate writing these “inside baseball” columns that deal with the inner workings of my websites. But, with the recent accomplishment achieved by TNAStars.com, I thought a brief Major Impact column was in order.
Up until I created TNAStars.com, TheBalrogsLair.com/TBLWrestling.com (and all of its prior formats) was my primary internet wrestling presence. Sure, I also developed XHeadlines.com, but I never planned on that site being a major player in my scheme (though Jacob Spades did a marvelous job turning that thought on its head and making XHeadlines.com a destination for many people).
I bring up the TBL history because TNAStars.com passed a significant milestone yesterday. Let me explain.
TheBalrogsLair.com became TBLWrestling.com on September 1, 2008. Beginning on that day, a whole new set of statistics began logging for TBLWrestling.com. Today, on April 26, 2011 – some 32 months after TBLWrestling.com went live – that website can proudly boast a cumulative total of 640,000 hits. An average of 20,000 hits each month is remarkable for any website, even though that is – admittedly – small for a top-tier professional wrestling news, rumors, results, and opinions website.
TNAStars.com, on the other hand, went live on January 1, 2010. Today, on April 26, 2011 – some 17 months after going live – TNAStars.com reached a cumulative hit count of 641,000. In 17 months on the internet, TNAStars.com eclipsed TBLWrestling.com’s 32 month achievement. Sure, there are a lot of factors that impact that accomplishment, but the fact remains that more eyes have been on TNAStars.com than have been on TBLWrestling.com. I would have never imagined that when I opened this website 17 months ago, but I absolutely have enjoyed the ride.
This website has become a great place for fans of TNA Wrestling (and wrestling fans in general) to get the latest – unbiased – news, rumors, and results. I’d put the quality of TNAStars.com up against any other TNA Wrestling-focused website out there – bar none.
And what makes me the most excited about this website is that there is so much more to come. I’m still in the process of merging the literally hundreds of e-mail addresses from the old TBL Forums into the TNAStars.com Mailing List. There are a number of link exchange requests and partnerships that I have on my “to do list” for 2011 – each of which will hopefully bring more eyes to this website. At some point, I’d like to complete a backlogging project where you can search TNAStars.com and find all of the past iMPACT! and Xplosion results from every show in TNA Wrestling’s history. Plus, there are a few more wrestler and knockout profiles that I want to add to the website in the coming weeks.
This is all just the beginning for TNAStars.com – a beginning that is now solidified in strength after overtaking the reins of cumulative popularity from TBLWrestling.com. I hope you all continue to stay along for this ride because it’s going to be a lot of fun!
And don’t count TBLWrestling.com out, either… 😉
