Well, it looks like the interwebs are whipping up more than meets the eye again. This time around, there are a lot of discussions and “reports” springing up about Hulk Hogan’s position within TNA Wrestling. A website that is, unfortunately, highly trafficked posted the following item a little while ago: “TNA has officially promoted Hulk Hogan to creative/talent manager of the struggling brand – the identical position given to Triple H in WWE.”
I saw that item and two thoughts immediately went through my head. First, TNA Wrestling is a “struggling brand?” Really? I had no idea. I remember looking through their last annual report and reading about all of the great things going on – oh wait. TNA Wrestling doesn’t publish annual reports. TNA Wrestling is a privately held company and the people who know whether or not the company is “struggling” aren’t submitting anonymous reports to a website that consists primarily of visitor-generated content.
Second, if this person is reporting that the promotion is “struggling” while they clearly have no insider source at TNA Wrestling, then how could they know whether or not Hogan was given the position of creative/talent manager? I figured it was time to track down what’s going on, here.
I did some searches on Bing and Google and found a report on ForceofWrestling.com that claimed some original sources. The ForceofWrestling.com report states: “In speaking with former Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment superstar, Sinn Bodhi, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling star, Hulk Hogan let it out that he was in charge of TNA Wrestling’s creative process. On his official Twitter account, Hogan noted that he has been in charge of TNA Wrestling’s creative for approximately three weeks, responding to Bodhi, who was asking Hogan when would TNA hire him.”
After reading this report, I had to go track down the exact tweets between Hogan and Sinn Bodhi (formerly known as Original Sinn in TNA Wrestling and Kizarny in WWE).
I went back to the last week of March 2011 in Hogan’s tweets and there were no comments to Bodhi. Similarly, I went back to the last week of March 2011 in Bodhi’s tweets and there were no comments to Hogan.
So, I’m not sure if the folks at ForceofWrestling.com have a direct line to Bodhi and that he was able to tell them about a private Twitter conversation he had with Hogan (which is totally possible, who knows?) or if I managed to miss the exchange between these two on Twitter (also totally possible), but I can’t find any verifiable evidence that this conversation took place. I implore the fans out there reading this piece to do their own investigation and, if you can find the Twitter exchange as suggested above, then please send me the links and I’ll update this entry with your finding.
Until then, though, I advise everyone take any news about Hogan’s position in TNA Wrestling with a grain of salt – even good news like this item.

For Hogan to be in charge of creative… he would actually to, you know, work and show up. He doesn’t.
