WWE Hall of Famer and WWE Tough enough host Stone Cold Steve Austin was recently interviewed by Xfinitytv.com. Steve talked briefly about his ability to return to the ring and who his dream matchup would be against, perhaps surprisingly for some it is a top TNA Wrestling star:
“That dream match that never happened in a lot of people’s mind is Austin/(Hulk) Hogan. But, in the current crop? I don’t really know. It would have been neat to work against a John Cena. Or the Rock or Undertaker or Triple H again. But that one dream match that never happened was Austin/Hogan. I could still, you know if I was in a bad situation, I could still get two years out of my carcass on a full-time basis. At about 90, 95% of what I used to do. But I’m happy where I’m at. And in ten or twenty years I still want to be doing the things I’m doing with my hunting and fishing. I want to continue to do that in a pain-free fashion. And right now I’m living a pretty pain-free lifestyle.”

This news about how he has another 2 years of being a full-timer left really shocked me. I thought he said his neck was so banged up that he would struggle with just one match? Just shows what a tough S.O.B he is recovering from all his injuries to the point that he can go into full-time for 2 years or so.

Also, Austin vs. Hogan would have been brilliant. Even today. Though Hogan is banged up (not so much Austin it seems) the match wouldn’t even need to have a great performance. Their characters are what would sell the match. I would be happy if I just saw a brawl between these two, and a lot of “BROTHERS!” from Hogan, and some “F*** YOU’S!” from Austin.
