Interview highlights courtesy of The Mayhem’s official correspondent, Paterson from New Jersey:
Why he classifies Ring of Honor’s Atlanta debut this weekend as “our WrestleMania”: “There were some that did and some that didn’t. WrestleMania 13 felt like a regular TV taping. The one in The Astrodome felt huge. This has that same type of feeling to me. This is big-time Pay-Per-View, and this is our WrestleMania. It has that atmosphere, and it’s certainly going to be the most watched events in Ring of Honor history by far.”
The chances of “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels ending the reign of the newly-crowned ROH World Champion Eddie Edwards this Friday night at “Honor Takes Center Stage”: “To me, this has every championship match through the ages. This has all the elements. You’ve got a brand new champion making his first title defense. You’re got the legendary name, the first Hall of Famer, who for some reason, the World Title has always been elusive to him, now perhaps with his best opportunity to capture the crown with who he has already struggled to defeat. If it went 60 minutes, it wouldn’t shock me. I don’t know how these two men could be anymore equal than they are.”
What he believes is Ring of Honor’s mission statement this weekend in Atlanta: “When you have an opportunity in front of a world stage, you must perform at your best. Every time they step through that curtain, and they step into a Ring of Honor ring, there is a feeling that it is different than anything else. There is no feeling like walking through that curtain threshold, and you head down toward the ring for a Ring of Honor event. The mission statement is simple: Prove to each & every set of eyes watching the show, whether it’s live or on (Internet) Pay-Per-View, that Ring of Honor is beyond a shadow of a doubt the best damn wrestling show that the fans will pay money for in this country or any other.”
More is contained in Kevin’s return to The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network, including his candid thoughts & comments on what he believes is the match that fans are looking forward to seeing the most this weekend as part of “Honor Takes Center Stage,” what’s next for Roderick Strong after losing the ROH World Championship to Eddie Edwards, whether or not The World’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) have the focus to defeat The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli) for the ROH World Tag Team Titles, plus much more analysis on Ring of Honor’s Atlanta debut!
