Dillon’s Thoughts: For what it was, I thought their last match was pretty exciting. This feud between just the two of them had almost no time to simmer but with two top names, I’m guessing TNA is hoping the name value of the two involved will sell.
Dillon’s Prediction: Given Hardy winning the belt back from Anderson proved that Hardy matches aren’t as predictable as one would think due to his legal issues. However I hope Sting keeps the belt here as I’m not a fan of ‘blink-of-an-eye’ title runs.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: I think it’d be stupid and devalue the TNA Title to take it off Sting this early. I’m glad we’re going to (hopefully) get a full length TNA Title match on a Pay-Per-View. That’s where TNA Title matches should happen. Hopefully the Angry A**hole gets a shot at Lockdown and we can see a great match inside the cage
Jarrett’s Prediction: Sting Retains
Joe’s Thoughts: I think the return of Sting still has some legs for TNA Wrestling. Plus, I don’t think that they want to change any of their dynamic right now, so I’m going with Sting for the victory at the big show.
Joe’s Prediction: Sting
Mark’s Thoughts: I feel like even though Jeff Hardy will be “prepared” now, Sting is still going to keep the title for a while. Additionally, I’d rather see Sting go up against either Anderson or Van Dam.
Mark’s Prediction: Sting
Scott’s Thoughts: Hardy is desperate to get the belt back to Immortal and will pull out all the stops. I think we could see a fair bit of interference in this one. However, Sting is being positioned as the “Network’s” man so I think he will retain.
Scott’s Prediction: Sting
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Sting
TNA World Tag Team Championship
Ink, Inc. vs. Beer Money
Dillon’s Thoughts: Two different styles that I think will clash well together. Should be an excellent match.
Dillon’s Prediction: Hard one to call. Beer Money do not need the belts, and their involved in a feud with Immortal…so I’m going with Ink Inc for the win.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: I don’t like the fact that Ink, Inc. got a Tag Title Match for doing nothing. I’ve mentioned it before that they lost to Gunner and Murphy three weeks ago on iMPACT, who lost to Beer Money two weeks ago. I’m a firm believer in EARNING a title match. It makes you look more credible going in. I’m looking forward to the Boozer Cruiser leaving Victory Road with Beer, James Storm, and the TNA Title still in tact.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Beer Money retains
Joe’s Thoughts: Even though I’m a big fan of Ink, Inc., I can’t imagine that Beer Money loses the belts to a team that essentially started a new feud some ten days ago. Beer Money is too over with the fans to lose the straps right now.
Joe’s Prediction: Beer Money
Mark’s Thoughts: Honestly, this could go either way, but I think Beer Money has a slight edge.
Mark’s Prediction: BEER… MONEY!
Scott’s Thoughts: Ink Inc verged on being heel in their promo to set up this match and I see a full blown turn here, possibly even having them be helped by Gunner/Murphy. Fortune will keep order at ring side and Beer Money will use their experience and power.
Scott’s Prediction: Beer Money
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Beer Money
TNA X-Division Championship
Ultimate X Match
Jeremy Buck vs. Max Buck vs. Robbie E. vs. Kazarian
Dillon’s Thoughts: These matches are always fun, and considering the participants, it should be a treat. However I felt the build up has been pretty poor. We get 50 backstage segments for Hogan on iMPACT but no meaningful promo describing that Robbie & the Bucks get the title shot because the Bucks missed last months titleshot & Robbie didn’t have time to prepare for his match with Kaz last month?
Dillon’s Prediction: Kaz is on a roll so I’m going with him for the win. A split between the Bucks has been teased so I wouldn’t be surprised to see one cost the other the match. But I’m going with Kaz.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: This should really be a special match, but it was announced Thursday night on iMPACT through a video package. We get Kazarian facing the two guys who lost to Ink, Inc. earlier in the night, and the guy Kazarian beat on the last PPV. Once again, I think this match should be people who have WON matches. It makes it more credible and less of a easy win for Kazarian on paper (the match will be fantastic and a show stealer without a doubt)
Jarrett’s Prediction: Kazarian Retains
Joe’s Thoughts: The Jersey Shore in me wants to see Robbie E. win this match, but I think Kazarian retains the title. And I think this match is definitely going to be the show stealer – no questions asked.
Joe’s Prediction: Kazarian
Mark’s Thoughts: I am so stoked to see an X-Division Match. If Robbie has any value to the X-Division, it will be shown in this match, because I personally think there is nothing “X-Division” about him.
Mark’s Prediction: Kazarian
Scott’s Thoughts: Not much of a build here but I’m looking forward to it. Kazarian needs to hold onto the belt though to give strength to Fortune.
Scott’s Prediction: Kazarian
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Kazarian
Dillon’s Thoughts: I feel like they need to do something with the Angelina/Winter storyline, as it’s never really been clarified. This match however should be another great example that if you want quality women’s wrestling, you come to TNA.
Dillon’s Prediction: Sarita & Rosita get the straps.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: This, if my memory is correct, the first time there’s been a Knockouts Tag Match since Angelina Love and Winter won it. I’m not a fan of the belt simply because it is never used. The only time it really is showcased is when someone is stripped of it.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Sarita and Rosita win the gold
Joe’s Thoughts: On the one hand, you have a rising heel tag team with Sarita and Rosita, but on the other hand you have Winter helping Velvet Sky get the victory over Angelina Pivarnick on the latest iMPACT! So who gets the nod in this match? I have to imagine that Booking 101 says that if I rub your back on Thursday, then you rub my back on Sunday. So I think Velvet Sky helps Angelina Love and Winter retain the titles.
Joe’s Prediction: Angelina Love & Winter
Mark’s Thoughts: With the recent cooperation of Winter and Velvet, I can’t help but think that somehow Love and Winter are going to hold on to the belts a little while longer.
Mark’s Prediction: Angelina Love & Winter
Scott’s Thoughts: Should be a good contest and both Sarita and Winter are accomplished wrestlers. Will be good to see more of Rosita too(HOT!). I sense Velvet may unwittingly scupper Angelina and Winter.
Scott’s Prediction: Sarita and Rosita.
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Sarita & Rosita
#1 Contender’s Match
Mr. Anderson vs. Rob Van Dam
Dillon’s Thoughts: Tough one. I think they’ll have a very physical match though. And it’s great to see in TNA, their putting so much emphasis on how important being the World Champion is as opposed to the other company, where the #1 contender for their main title is too busy trading insults with the host of their biggest PPV rather than showing any interest in his match or winning their title.
Dillon’s Prediction: Psycho Anderson is so fun to watch. While I do think RVD should get it, I think Anderson will get the win.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Mr. Anderson has been absolute money on TV. His raging promos as a pissed off former champion have me on the edge of my seat laughing. Rob Van Dam…he’s Rob Van Dam. The name along is enough to explain who he is and what he’s capable of. He’s the Whole F’N Show. This should be a standout match.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Mr. Anderson wins
Joe’s Thoughts: For once, it seems like some of the undercard matches on the Victory Road pay-per-view actually mean something. In this match, I have to go with Rob Van Dam getting the victory since I think he’s probably selling more merchandise than Mr. Anderson and thus a better investment for TNA Wrestling’s immediate future.
Joe’s Prediction: Rob Van Dam
Mark’s Thoughts: This should be a very good match. This is another one that could swing either way.
Mark’s Prediction: Mr. Anderson
Scott’s Thoughts: Nice little build to this one. Hopefully we will see a good mix of brawling and high spots.
Scott’s Prediction: Mr Anderson
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Rob Van Dam
Dillon’s Thoughts: I didn’t care much for them as a tag team, but had high hopes for Hernandez during his brief face singles run. I’d expect a great battle of the giants here.
Dillon’s Prediction: Hernandez simply because he needs it more than Morgan.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: I haven’t been able to get into this. Morgan has done what he could, but I feel they haven’t pushed this feud enough. I think showing what happened and having Morgan feel sorry about it would have him look more sympathetic.
Jarrett’s Prediction: Morgan wins
Joe’s Thoughts: If you’ve been following TNAStars.com for any length of time, then you probably know that I’m a Matt Morgan fan. We went to the same college (a few years apart), I booked him at an indy show that I helped promote a few years ago, and I think that he has everything it takes to carry the wrestling profession on his back in the decades to come. That said, Hernandez is rocking and rolling since returning to TNA Wrestling from south of the border, but I have to give the match to my fellow Monmouth University alumnus.
Joe’s Prediction: Matt Morgan
Mark’s Thoughts: Yet another match that could swing either way. Regardless of the winner, I hope this is a feud that TNA decides to build more upon.
Mark’s Prediction: Super Mex
Scott’s Thoughts: Hernandez has proved he is a badass with his border toss to Doug Williams and his opening up of Morgan two weeks ago. Immortal need Hernandez to win here.
Scott’s Prediction: Hernandez
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Hernandez
Dillon’s Thoughts: This was sort of thrown together but both men are amazing athletes. This will be the guilty pleasure of the card.
Dillon’s Prediction: AJ of course.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Matt Hardy? Really? They couldn’t find anything better for one of TNA’s best wrestlers to do? Can we PLEASE get AJ prominent again! Matt Hardy is a waste of a contract in TNA and they haven’t even established what the “system” has done to him, and it makes me take him a lot less seriously than I should.
Jarrett’s Prediction: AJ Wins, then (hopefully) Flair won’t bow down to Hardy any more.
Joe’s Thoughts: I’m a fan of Matt Hardy’s character since coming to TNA Wrestling. However, I don’t think Cold Blooded (wasn’t that Glacier’s gimmick in WCW, by the way?) is going to win against the man that built the promotion.
Joe’s Prediction: AJ Styles
Mark’s Thoughts: Matt Hardy seems to have this style that challenges the high flyers that he ends up in the ring with. AJ did put up a good showing against him and Ric Flair on Thursday though.
Mark’s Prediction: AJ Styles
Scott’s Thoughts: Matt has cheated in his past two matches against AJ but I see ‘The Phenomenal One’ dominating in this one.
Scott’s Prediction: AJ Styles
William’s Thoughts:
William’s Prediction: Matt Hardy
Bully Ray vs. Tommy Dreamer
Dillon’s Thoughts: Violent. That’s what this will be. Most people roll their eyes at this Ray vs D-Von feud. I was one if them, but D-Von has shown some great acting chops and I’m really digging Bully Ray being probably the meanest, most vile villain in wrestling today.
Dillon’s Prediction: Ray will get the win here but I suspect D-Von will get some revenge.
Jarrett’s Thoughts: Tommy’s finally getting his wish with wrestling again. I think it’ll be a solid match. Tommy’s a great worker and his match with AJ back at No Surrender was one of my favorites in TNA History. That being said, I don’t think the fans inside the iMPACT Zone will get into this as much as they should with the storyline. This whole storyline has been slow in my opinion and iMPACT barely did anything to help this, it just pushed the Ray/Devon feud
Jarrett’s Prediction: Bully Ray wins
Joe’s Thoughts: Tommy Dreamer is a producer, so I can’t imagine that he’s going to get any sustained push in TNA Wrestling. Bully Ray is apparently going to be a big heel character in the promotion, so he’s got to get the rub in this one.
Joe’s Prediction: Bully Ray
Mark’s Thoughts: Tommy Dreamer is the most emotional jobber in TNA. I think he’s lost nearly every important, climatic match he’s been in since in TNA, but he brings an interesting emotional flavor in with each loss.
Mark’s Prediction: Bully Ray
Scott’s Thoughts: Expect lots of blood and brawling. Tommy will run Bully close but I see the former Team 3D leader showing no remorse.
Scott’s Prediction: Bully Ray
William’s Thoughts:
