The final cable ratings for last night’s episode of iMPACT! on Spike TV are now available and the company’s flagship show once again set a rating record. This week’s episode of the show scored a final cable rating of 1.37 which represented about 1,847,000 viewers over the course of the show’s two hours. This is 0.11 of a point higher (and about 302,000 more viewers) than last week’s episode which scored a final cable rating of 1.26 with an average audience of 1,545,000 viewers.
We also know a little bit about the ratings breakdown by hour from last night’s show. The first hour of last night’s iMPACT! on Spike TV scored a final cable rating of 1.32 while the second hour scored a final cable rating of 1.41. This was the highest rated episode of iMPACT! on a Thursday night in TNA Wrestling history and the second highest rated episode of iMPACT! ever.
For comparison’s sake, we can talk about this fictitious Thursday Night War that exists as a comedy piece on this website. With that in mind, this week’s episode of Superstars scored a final cable rating of 0.57 on WGN America. The 0.57 cable rating represented a total audience of 596,000 viewers.

Could iMPACT! be catching some momentum from last night’s show? I think so. In fact, I think that this was the big boost that the show has needed. So while the naysayers bitch and moan about celebrity guests and the Hogan/Bischoff team, it does appear that they have been performing pretty well in 2011.
