According to many interweb wrestling dirt sheets the previously built Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett WWE storyline that was expected to be capped with a WrestleMania bout has been officially been scrapped. According to these reports Undertaker is getting prepped for his return and Shawn Michaels will be involved in the match in some way though not as his opponent.
Speculation has of course turned to the opponent being former TNA star and wrestling icon Sting. Many point to this reported scrapping of the Barrett/Taker storyline as another indication.
In my opinion if Michaels is involved this would indicate that HHH is more likely Undertakers opponent. The real difficulty in guessing of course is Undertakers undefeated WrestleMania streak. Would HHH come back from a long absence just to lose? Would Sting sign with WWE just to lose his first match?
Sting has always been a good guy and all about the business, so I could definitely see him taking the pin for a big wrestling moment. But would WWE want to invest in him just to kill him that quick? Yes. Vince loves to squash WCW talent. See nWo, Bill Goldberg, DDP ect.
Back to the original rumor though and I think we get HHH vs. Taker. Shawn interferes giving HHH a tainted win thus keeping Taker’s streak symbolically alive and feeding Stephanie McMahon‘s husband’s ego.

I would love to see Sting in the WWE but, Vince will have to let Sting come on his own terms and with Sting being a big attraction he will have let Sting run his own contract.
