The internet wrestling dirt sheets are “reporting” that the higher ups in WWE were not interested in signing Samoa Joe when he was temporarily between contracts with TNA recently. According to the report, signing Joe was supported by various individuals in the company but the higher ups could not be convinced before TNA resigned Joe.
The reports offer no named sources as always. It’s always fun to dissect these reports and the newest one is no different. Who was pulling for Joe in the WWE? Nothing. Who in the WWE vetoed signing Joe? Nothing. My guess is if Joe was never offered a deal by the WWE it would be because he did not show interest in pursuing one. Again this is my guess, if I worked for the esteemed wrestling journalists sites, my thoughts would be a source and I would have said, “Sources say Samoa Joe showed no interest in WWE and the WWE in an effort to save face declined to offer him a contract.” Of course we don’t know if he was offered or not offered, interested, or uninterested, that was just practice in case one of the dirt sheets might want to hire me someday.
