According to numerous sources, John Cena appears to have injured his knee in a cage match with Wade Barrett at tonight’s Wiles-Barre, PA WWE event. Word is that Cena landed badly after taking Barrett’s Wasteland finisher. As the former leader of Nexus tried to climb out of the cage, the scripted spot was for Cena to stop him, but he could barely stay up. Thus, Barrett had to awkwardly come back down from climbing the cage, and the two went to the finish right away, which was Cena winning via submission.
After the match, Cena got on the mic (as he normally does at house shows in post-match celebrations) and announced to the crowd that it looks like he’ll be needing some time off; he then proceeded to limp to the back. We hope this isn’t serious and wish John a speedy recovery.
