TNA Knockouts Tag Team champion Ayako Hamada has been released by TNA. The promotion began a tournament to fill the championship vacancy at tonight’s Impact taping.
While the credited site is the only source of this information we have found at the moment, we will let you know as soon as any more information comes out involving Ayako Hamada’s supposed firing.
((Jarrett’s Jab – From my understanding Hamada was one of the higher-paid knockouts on TNA’s roster. I can’t see why they keep the Knockouts Tag Team Belts because the only time they’re seen on air is when they are filling their vacancy.))
Dillon says
I hated reading this as I was a huge fan of Hamada. She brought a lot of variety to the Knockout division and was easily one of the most athletic wrestlers they had period. And I agree with Jarrett, I thought the Knockout Tag titles were a great idea but the only time they are showcased are when their being vacated. Oddly enough the first time they were vacated, they fired Awesome Kong, who was sharing the titles with Hamada.
Joe says
Hmmm… could Hamada be the kiss of death when it comes to the Knockout tag team titles?!
I was a fan of Hamada’s work in TNA Wrestling, too. Particularly, her work while teaming with Awesome Kong was very entertaining. It’s a shame that the folks in charge of the show couldn’t find a better place for her – she’s got all of the talent in the world.
William B. West says
I have to wonder if someone caught wind of this Sunday night without all the full story and assumed it was Hardy being stripped of the belt and then filled in the blanks with their own story.
Hamada is a top notch talent, it would be nice if the WWE gave her a look if TNA doesn’t have anything for her. Though my preference would be for TNA to work something out.
Dr. Cain, Esq says
I guess her boobs weren’t big enough for the ‘New’ TNA. If this is true it’s sad that a performer of her level is pushed aside for silicone and bleach bs.
Joe says
I guess that we can all take some solace in the fact that the Knockouts are being given the main event during tonight’s iMPACT!, so it would appear that TNA Wrestling isn’t flowing towards a throwaway division any more.
