If Raven looked upset a few weeks ago when he lost to Jeff Hardy on iMPACT (with the stipulation being if he lost, he’s gone from TNA), then it wasn’t just his acting chops that convinced you. Many sources are reporting that Raven was legitimately upset at being written off TNA television and told his services were no longer needed. Sabu is another star who was also upset at being let go. Although Raven was “fired” and is truely gone, he did wrestle for TNA at a house show beating TNA TV Champion AJ Styles (in a non-title match) cleanly with his DDT finisher. Many feel TNA is having those wrestlers who are parting with the company leave with clean wins over big stars at house shows as a way to keep them happy if/when they bring them back.
Both Raven and Sabu have had many runs with the company, with Raven even being a former TNA World champion back when the company was NWA:TNA. The feeling among many veterans who have worked with Raven before felt that if TNA had absolutely made up their minds to remove him from TV, then keeping him employed at least as an agent would have been wise. The futures of both Rhino and now Steven Richards are in doubt according to many sites. However many feel Richards is in good standing with the company and may be the “Hardcore Holly” of TNA i.e. a name everyone knows who is used to mainly put over others.

What bothers me by this report is, as always, the assumption and implication-laced writing style of the Observer. For example, he uses the terms “many feel” and “sources are reporting” when, in reality, he’s just making stuff up. Granted, his approach – and that’s a logical approach to take if you’re going to be spreading your own point of view as fact. However, at the end of the day what we have here is another “news” report that can be interpreted as anti-TNA Wrestling.
Now, if I was going to play the role of this dirtsheet writer I’d say this – Raven was let go and is probably upset about it (as anyone would be if they just lost their job in this economy). That’s it. End of story. Everything else is conjecture (not “news”) after that statement.

Another great example of the Wrestling Observer’s incompetance is the fact that this week they were saying that TNA may be off the air in the UK, when Sky has already confirmed that they will carry TNA.
What’s worse is the copy and paste sites that published the Sky confirmation of TNA staying ran with the Wrestling Observer smear job even though they had already posted the true story a week earlier. I wonder sometimes if they even read what they are pasting?
