The folks over at the Pro Wrestling Torch are reporting what many of us expected – last week’s episode of iMPACT! scored horribly in the cable ratings. The final cable rating for the show was a 0.85, which is the lowest cable rating for the show on a Thursday night this year. The 0.85 final cable rating was based off of a first hour rating of 0.84 and a second hour rating of 0.87.
There are also reports that last week’s episode of iMPACT! managed to average some 1,262,000 viewers throughout both hours. This isn’t such a bad number, but I expect that it is slightly higher than what the final number will be for the direct cable viewership.
While some people are incorrectly attributing this low number to a flawed product coming out of TNA Wrestling, the truth is that ratings for all television shows are down on holiday evenings – especially the Thanksgiving holiday. And when you add in the big NFL game (Jets vs. Bengals) from last Thursday night, it’s surprising that anyone had time to flip over to iMPACT! Personally, I’ll be interested to see where the final viewership numbers are after DVRs are factored into the equation.
