Some of the major wrestling dirt sheets are reporting that TNA World Champion Jeff Hardy‘s new championship belt cost the company $18,000. The purchase according to the sheets is rubbing wrestlers the wrong way.
The very dirt sheets that are reporting that TNA purchased this belt are the same ones that a week or so ago reported TNA was broke, would not have any major signings, was going to lay off staff, and needed Dixie Carter’s mother to sign off on expenditures. How much difference a week makes. Now they have $18,000 to spend on belts.
I’ve consulted several belt marks and they all assure me there is no way that this belt would even approach that cost and is most likely in the $1800-$3500 range depending on the plating. Looks like the sheets decided to add an extra zero.

I can’t stand how people are bashing this new belt because it looks like the Diva’s belt and they’re acting like its the new, PERMANENT, TNA world title belt.
1. Its purple. So by default it looks like the Diva’s title? Oh please. If this very belt was red, people would be saying it was half dragon half Legends/Global/TV title.
2. How the F*** can it be TNA’s permanent new belt if it has Jeff Hardy’s face plastered all over it?!

I think you’ll find people on the internet will complain about everything. Like you said, it’s Jeff Hardy’s World Title and in that context it is a very suitable look for the belt.

At first I didn’t like the belt. Not that it was ugly, I just happen to absolutely love the design of the last TNA World title. As obviously indicated by my avatar, lol. But this new Jeff Hardy belt is growing on me. I know many fail to realize that the purple strap comes from purple basically being the color most associated with Jeff Hardy, much like red & rellow is for Hogan, red is for Kane, ect.
