Think back – way back – to a few weeks ago. See if you can remember the October 21st episode of iMPACT! Can you do it? Well, that week’s episode of iMPACT! on Spike TV scored a 1.16 cable rating for the two hour episode. This rating represented some 1,506,000 viewers.
Reports are now circulating around the interwebs suggesting that after the DVR numbers are added to that week’s episode of iMPACT!, the total final viewership is closer to 1,700,000. We reviewed this report on the Pro Wrestling Torch’s website and it sounds correct, especially when taking into consideration the recent history of the DVR audience. Adding 200,000 to the final audience has been the standard trend for DVRs over the course of the last few weeks (see October 14th DVR numbers and October 7th DVR numbers).
If those 200,000 folks who watched iMPACT! on DVR were actually watching the night of the show, then the final cable rating could have jumped from a 1.16 to a 1.31. This would have been the third highest rated episode of iMPACT! for the year. However, this projection is nothing more than speculation based on a simple calculation. The actual final cable rating number might have been much different given the number of people watching cable on Thursday, October 21st.
