The interwebs are plastered with the ratings for this week’s episode of iMPACT! on Spike TV. According to all of the reports that I’ve seen, iMPACT! scored a 1.13 rating on the night. This rating was generated from a 1.13 rating for the first hour and a 1.14 rating in the second hour. Please note, though, that the first hour was actually rounded to a 1.13 from a 1.1275 and, because of this rounding, the overall rating wasn’t bumped up to a 1.14.
Reports suggest that the highest rated portion of the show was the six Knockout tag team match to begin the second hour of the show. And, oddly enough, the lowest rated part of the show was Team 3D challenging the Motor City Machine Guns, some backstage nonsense with Matt Morgan and Eric Bischoff, and a pre-recorded message from TNA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy. The anti-Team 3D guy in me wants to suggest that the presence of Team 3D in this segment of the show created a doomsday scenario, but that might not be fair. Meh. I think all would agree, though, that TNA Wrestling didn’t promote the three-way tag team dance as forcefully as they could have via their social media networks and company website and, thus, this particular segment of the show may not have had as big a lead-in as may have been possible.
Just speculation on my part.
Update: This week’s episode of iMPACT! drew in about 1,480,000 viewers which is slightly down from last week’s audience of 1,506,000 viewers.
This week’s iMPACT! rating was down 0.03 from last week’s 1.16 rating. That’s all we have at this point, folks! Unless we get any more information on this week’s episode of iMPACT!, feel free to head over to our Ratings War area to see how the show has been faring through 2010.
