When asked to comment on the similarities of AJ Styles and Shawn Michaels via his Twitter page, Jim Ross posted the following tweet:
“I think A.J. Styles is a great in ring talent, perhaps even underutilized, but he is not better at this time than was HBK in Shawn’s prime,” Ross said. “That’s not a knock on Styles even though some will take it as such. To even compare A.J. to HBK should be looked upon as high praise.”
Did Jim see the footage where AJ does a flip out of the steel cage on to Abyss? I think not. WWE has a new rule that no one is to come off the top rope for safety reasons.
I’m a big fan of both AJ and HBK. Shawn is a true legend in every sense of the word. AJ Styles is one heck of a talented guy & to compare him right now to Shawn means he’s in the right path to greatness. Comparison would be better 10 to 15 years later though.
