Tammy Sytch‘s name has recently been making the internet rounds as she has issued a complaint that TNA wrestling refused to forward her Chris Candido’s last paycheck. Chris as many remember died from complications following surgery for a wrestling injury he received during his run in TNA. Sytch had the following to say:
“They refused because we weren’t legally married, so bills I had of his, in both of our names, ended up being my sole responsibility. It was only a $1,500 check, but still, f*cking scumbags. They had Terry Taylor call me and tell me that. So he basically broke his ankle and died for free. They sent the check in his name, which I couldn’t endorse or deposit…when I asked them to cut me a new check in my name, they said no.”
I have a couple of problems with her line of thinking here. First TNA cannot give a paycheck to someone who is not the legal recipient via the contract terms Candido had with TNA, if he had wanted Sytch to be a legal recipient it would have been included in the contract. Second, there are very strict estate laws, whomever was legally entitled to this check eventually would have received it, no one will be ripped off. Third, because she is dating him she doesn’t deserve his payday.
Finally, if memory serves there were several high profile fundraisers to pay for his funeral expenses, where did this money go? I’m not saying Sytch pocketed this money, but if she really paid his expenses then these fundraisers should be the source of her anger, not TNA.

First, ALL money donated and received from TNA and his fans was put into “THE CHRISTOPHER CANDITO FOUNDATION, THE CHASE BANK OF SPRING LAKE, NEW JERSEY”. Each year Chris’s mother hands out a scholarship to someone who can show how he or she went out of their way to truly help someone. Its a scholarship for caring about others. This was the way Chris handled himself and would be thrilled to give a check to someone who did good for someone. One year at a show in his hometown a boy asked his father if he can get a picture of Chris and invite him to his birthday party the next day. The father said that he really doesn’t think Chris would come, but said lets go say hello to him anyway. When the boy reached Chris he asked for his picture and invited him to his birthday party. Chris said that he was sorry that he didn’t have any pictures and had another show the next night and wasn’t sure if he could make the party. The next day at the boys party there was a knock on the door and when the young boy answered the door there was Chris with a hand full of pictures ready to sign for all of his party guess. That young man will never forget that day when a Pro Wrestler came to his house on his birthday. THAT WAS CHRIS. There are a thousand stories like this one about him, about his caring for others, the sport of wrestling and his fellow co-workers. HE IS TRULY MISSED!!! ALL of chris’s funeral expenses and bills were handled by the family.
